When you just can't let it go.

This might sound a bit harsh, but honestly, eighteen months isn't really that long of a stretch. You just have to grit your teeth and ride it out.
You might find that you never fully get over him, and you know what? That’s perfectly fine. It’s certainly not a consolation prize, nor is it exactly the life you envisioned, but eventually, it becomes manageable. It’s been three years for me, and I’ve simply come to terms with the fact that I’ll never be the exact same person I was before. There’s always going to be this lingering emptiness; I have my good days and my bad days, but then again, doesn't everyone?
And believe me when I say this: if you’re still feeling this captivated by him, it is much better not to aim for friendship right now.
