Honestly, if you want something worthwhile, you really need to check out Attar's book "Good Memorials."

If I recall correctly, there are nine parts in total.

In this particular section, the definition and significance of the term saint is explained.

Additionally, in the book American Literature in Literary Criticism, Volume II, Oral Literature, edited by Munib Maglajlić and Đenan Buturović, there is a text regarding lectures on saints—I can't recall the author off the top of my head since I don't have the book in front of me right now.

When we talk about "traditions" or "legends," we're essentially talking about times gone by. But let's be real: Saints exist today, and they always will.
It's a fact that Saints are honored through their miracles—those supernatural feats that defy explanation.

Has anyone here ever had the honor of meeting even one of God's chosen ones?
And how does one actually become one of them?

Saints are those chosen servants whom God protects and loves. They come in all different categories. If you want the deep dive, Maria Garcia50 described them best in his work, The Meccan Revelations.
I’ve been lucky enough to meet several Saints across America, and they fall into all sorts of different groups. These people are truly special servants of God.
As for how you actually become a saint, one of today's heavyweights put it this way:
"You have to know, and you have to want it
then you'll see just how far you can go."
Beyond that, God chooses for Himself whom He will take as a friend—in other words, a saint. These are the servants who exclusively walk alongside the Almighty Lord.
"He becomes their sight through which they see, their hearing through which they listen, and the path upon which they walk. They live only for the Almighty Truth and turn their gaze toward nothing else."
These are the top-tier believers, the absolute elite. They serve as the heirs and deputies—the viceroys—of God's Prophet. Because of this, they will always uphold Islam in its purest, most original form.
