I’d love to grab everything on a payment plan if possible—ideally all from one shop to keep things simple!
Hey there,
My brother is looking to pull the trigger on a new PC setup—everything included! We're trying to build a solid rig with a budget of around $1,500. He’s strictly using it for gaming—mostly stuff like Fortnite and League of Legends. He needs the whole package: the tower, a monitor, Windows, and hopefully a little extra left over so he can pick out his own keyboard, mouse, and headset.
Thanks in advance!
It’s definitely overkill for casual home use—I know, I know, I already said it’s too much! But hey, he knows exactly what he wants. Regarding that parts list he put together, he actually scaled things back to an RTX 2060 Super and swapped out the Kraken for a Noctua air cooler instead. So, with those tweaks, he can snag the whole setup for just under $2,000.
Thanks so much for all the help, everyone! 🙂
He just told me that price doesn't matter—he actually Googled how to build an editing rig! He stumbled upon some guy online who builds PCs based on budget tiers, and this is what his search turned up:
CPU AMD Ryzen 9 3950 x (4.7GHz,70MB,105W,AM4) BOX, !! no cooler included !! 7.398,00
Gainward RTX 2080 Super Phantom, 8GB GDDR6, 0962, 4710562240962 6.399,00
ASUS TUF X570-Plus Gaming Wi-Fi, AM4, 90MB1170-M0EAY0 1.948,00
DDR4 64GB (4x16) G.Skill 3600MHz Trident Z Series, F4-3600C17Q-64GTZKW 3.294,00
Samsung SSD 500GB 970 EVO PLUS M.2, MZ-V7S500BW 975,00
Samsung SSD 1TB 860 EVO 2.5" SATA, MZ-76E1T0B 1.139,99
WD 2TB 3.5" 5400rpm, 64MB, WD20EZRZ, Blue 485,00
Power Supply Seasonic 850W, SSR-850FX 1.080,00
NZXT Kraken X52, liquid cooling, RL-KRX52-02 1.049,99
NZXT H510 Black Window, CA-H510B-B1 799,00
TOTAL: 24,567.98
So, I'm wondering—will all this actually work together? He'd probably grab everything from Micro Center—do you guys think they can put the whole thing together and install Windows for him?
Oh, I forgot to mention—I'm actually planning on parting ways with my current PC soon!
I've been reading that Adobe really leans on Nvidia GPUs to get things moving. Also—quick question—is that new Ryzen better than Intel for the kind of work he'll be doing?
Hey there,
My old buddy finally decided it’s time for a new rig! Right now, he’s rocking an i9 5820k, an RX480, and 64GB of RAM—a setup he put together back in the day. Now, he’s itching for an upgrade. He’s already got all his peripherals and Windows ready to go, so we just need to focus on the core components and a case.
He’ll mostly be using it for Adobe After Effects and other video editing/multimedia software. He mentioned wanting to jump over to a Ryzen 9 if that actually makes sense for his workflow. He asked me to pull together a few build ideas to pitch to him—so, if you guys could help me whip up some configurations, that would be awesome! Thanks in advance!
Thanks so much!
So, I'd be ordering through adm.hr—does everyone think they handle shipping out to Indianapolis okay? Also, just wondering if all the individual boxes (like for the GPU, CPU, etc.) arrive separately
I'm planning on paying cash on delivery.
Thanks so much for the help!
I'd probably go with a 750 W unit plus a GTX 1070—basically like crimsonstag84's build

I've been playing around with this setup—what do you guys think?
Is everything here compatible, and do you think I can actually upgrade this thing in about 6 years??
Is this build built to last?
The main goal is running After Effects and handling some rendering work
So, I'm looking at 32 GB RAM, an 8 GB GPU, and an Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4 GHz
Can I get something better for this kind of cash—around $1,300 to $1,500?
(Based on prices at Best Buy)

-Black PC case
Any idea what I could get for this?
Hey there,
I'm trying to figure out what kind of setup I could score with this budget—looking to pay cash on delivery! I'm aiming for something with a Skylake processor and an Nvidia card, but I don't need any peripherals.
Thanks!
Thanks so much! I'll definitely reach out once the new one drops—would love to pick 🙂
's brain about it.
Haha, well, I've never actually built one before—so I guess my logic is just "expensive equals better," right? xD
I wasn't talking about buying from Best Buy specifically, just browsing various online shops. I was digging through some price comparison sites and ended up landing on a local retailer's page.
And I'm thinking 16GB of RAM just so I don't have to stress about whether it'll be enough down the road.
I didn't mean I was ready to pull the trigger immediately—I was more thinking about picking things up after I get my new place.
I've got a budget of up to $15k—paying cash, too—and I'm definitely not looking to overclock anything.
Could you be a little more specific about what wouldn't be worth the money?
Hey everyone! So, I'm looking to pick up a new gaming rig—and I've actually decided to build it myself! Since I've never put a PC together before, I wanted to run this by you guys to see if it's solid or if there's anything I should swap out to make it better.
Here’s what I'm thinking:
1x Motherboard ASUS M5A99X evo R2, AMD 990X/SB950, DDR3, SOUND, G-LAN, PCI-E, CROSSFIRE, SLI, ESATA, USB 3.0, ATX, AM3 / AM3+
1x Processor AMD FX 8370 BOX, S. AM3+, 4.0GHZ, 16MB CACHE, EIGHT CORE
1x COOLER ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER A30, S. AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+/FM1
1x Memory PC-12800, 16 GB, Kingston DDR3 HyperX, KHX16C9K2/16X, DDR3 1600MHZ, KIT 2X8GB
1x Graphics Card PCI-E XFX AMD RADEON R9 290 DD EDITION, 4GB DDR5, DUALDVI, HDMI, DP
1x SSD 240.0 GB KINGSTON HYPERX 3K, LIMITED Black WHITE SERIES, KE-S32240-W, SATA3, 2.5", MLC-CHIP, MAX 555/510 MB/S
1x Case ANTEC NINE HUNDRED TWO V3, MIDI, PLEXI, Black, NO PSU
1x Power Supply 750W, XFX CORE EDITION P1-750S-NLB9, ATX, 135MM VENT, PFC
So... will this thing actually work? 😁 And any tips on how to level it up a bit?
Thanks in advance! 🙂
