Are the first three years of life really the most important?

Back in my psych classes, we touched on how things like eating disorders or interpersonal struggles can actually take root as early as one or two years old. It’s that stuff where parents might force-feed a child or push them into certain behaviors—it just stays lodged in your subconscious. I don't recall the specific details from my old notes, but if anyone is actually interested, I might dig through my notebook and see what I can find.
