What were your biggest pregnancy surprises and pet peeves?

I had two parents drive me absolutely up the wall today (the joys of working in the American education system):
1. - They actually had the nerve to ask what I’m even trying to achieve here, claiming that back in their day, they and their spouses went to school and things were just "different." It was nothing but empty, condescending remarks. Like, excuse me? Did you think I just sat down and scribbled this curriculum out for fun? Grrrr.
2. - "We won't be able to make it to the parent-teacher conference. You know I work afternoons, and my husband is just exhausted." 😲
Honestly, I want to scream!!!
