GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Robert Rodriguez2 said:That should be plenty 🙂. Unless you're planning on heavy overclocking, you'll have more than enough juice. That card pulls about 150W, the CPU is around 95W, and if we budget another 50W for everything else, you're looking at roughly 295W total. 🙂

Thanks for the info. I'm a little confused because the official AMD website claims this card needs a 500W or even a 600W power supply. To make matters worse, I have some buddies who went out and bought massive 1200W units for builds that were almost identical to mine, if not actually weaker.🤷

I'm looking at picking up an AMD Radeon HD 6790, but I'm wondering if my current EVGA Power Supply will actually handle it.

My CPU is an Intel Core i5

Jamie Rivera70 said:Running isn't going to build leg muscle; anyone who looks at marathon runners knows what kind of legs they end up with.
Maybe if he was doing sprints, or some heavy HIIT, but it’s definitely not going to be anything like hitting squats.
The only person getting stronger legs from running would be someone who's never run a day in their life.

I wouldn't bet on that. I'm not talking about just a light jog here—take soccer, for example.
I play regularly, and I can tell you firsthand that I've actually put on muscle mass over the last year. It makes zero sense to claim you can't build leg muscle through running, especially if you're carrying a little extra weight, because that gives you more resistance to work against.

How is something going to grow if you aren't even training it?

When it comes to the arms, I wasn't saying you'd gain muscle mass without training them; I was simply trying to confirm something that is common sense.

Look, I can't possibly have all the answers. Besides, this isn't one of those typical, cookie-cutter questions you see everywhere—you know, the usual "how many grams of protein should I eat per pound of body weight while training" nonsense.

And honestly, you hit the nail on the head. Hey, mods, could you please clean this thread up? Let's get rid of Sam Roberts' lecturing. Thanks.

Look, I don’t want to be rude here, so let’s just drop it. What’s the actual issue? I asked a straightforward question. If you don't know the answer or aren't willing to help, then just don't respond. We're all here to support one another, not to act like we're smarter than everyone else.

So, back to the point: if my entire training focus was dedicated to nothing but the hypertrophy of a single muscle group, how much protein should I be hitting post-workout?

So, does this mean I’ll see the fastest possible bicep growth if I just hammer that one muscle group exclusively and chug a protein shake immediately after? Also, how much protein can a muscle actually absorb at once—is there a specific limit to how much is useful, or can you just keep loading it in?

Does anyone actually understand how protein synthesis works if, say, you’re just out running long distances and then loading up on shakes afterward? Specifically, what happens to muscle groups like the arms—do they just stay stagnant even if I'm hitting my protein macros, simply because I'm not training them?

So, looking at it from a runner's perspective: if someone is constantly hitting the pavement and keeping their protein intake high, how does the body actually distribute those nutrients? Is it possible to see muscle growth exclusively in the legs while the rest of the body stays the same?

Sam Roberts said:what do you guys think about this miracle product

Calling it a "miracle" is a stretch... honestly, it seems pretty similar to Platinum Hydrowhey, which I actually think is great.
As for how it tastes, I haven't seen this one stocked in any stores around here, so I can't say for sure.

I’ve been sticking with the Hydrowhey from Optimum Nutrition. Honestly, the strawberry flavor is top-tier 😍
plus it doesn't have any sugar or cholesterol. It's easily in a league of its own.

Has anyone actually tried PLATINUM HYDRO WHEY?

Looking at the ingredient profile, it seems pretty solid to me.
Is everyone just becoming more selfish these days? in Spirituality ·
At the end of the day, everything always comes down to finding that sweet spot of balance. We can choose to be selfish, or we can be selfless—whether it’s looking out for ourselves or doing right by someone else—but the trick is knowing where to draw the line. You don't want to be so wrapped up in yourself that you lose your humanity, but you shouldn't be such a martyr that you let everyone walk all over you either. It's all about that middle ground, folks.

Rident is definitely the way to go. They have plenty of great options, but Dr. Varljen is absolutely top-tier 🙂
