How to overcome fear? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some serious advice on how to actually get my act together and overcome this massive anxiety about hitting the gym. I really want to start taking Zumba classes—honestly, I spend my entire workday glued to a desk staring at a computer screen, and I've been struggling with my weight since I was a kid. I know deep down it’s finally time to move, but man, it’s hard. To make matters worse, I am incredibly shy and pretty much a loner by nature... just the thought of walking into a crowded fitness center makes me want to bolt. I’ve been wanting to fix my health and my physique for ages, but my own head keeps tripping me up. I constantly spiral thinking about walking into a room where I don't know a single soul, seeing all these super fit people who look like they’ve been training forever, and feeling like every single eye in the building is going to be glued to me. I realize this overthinking isn't getting me anywhere, but I'm stuck. How do I finally push past this mental wall, find the guts to show up, and actually sign up? 😢 😢

Honestly, you aren't valuing yourself at all by staying in a relationship like this—there isn't a shred of self-respect left. You claim you're just "using" him, but from the way you write, it sounds like he’s doing the exact same thing; it seems like you two found a perfect, albeit messy, match. I deal with my own loneliness and barely have any friends myself, but I would never—ever—enter a relationship with someone I don't even like. I think I'd rather die of solitude than go down that path. If you keep this up, you'll likely end up married to someone you aren't even physically attracted to, simply because you're terrified of being alone. I know people who weren't in a healthy headspace before or after such situations, and they end up settling out of pure desperation just to avoid the silence. For everyone's sake, it's better to just end it now.
I'm looking at picking up this game bundle as a gift for my kid's confirmation, so I wanted to get some input here—do you think he'd actually be able to run any decent games on an NVIDIA GeForce GT 240?
