GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Zachary Nguyen2 said:I honestly don't think anyone planning on building a PC this year is actually going to pull it off.

Things aren't looking up anytime soon, even through all of 2022. We've heard whispers that production might finally scale up in 2023, but let's be real—it all hinges on unpredictable factors like shifting pandemic restrictions, the influx of new gamers, and the sheer volume of crypto miners hogging the supply.

Just for those who aren't up to speed, ASUS has announced once again that they’ll be hiking up their GPU prices. What happened last time they pulled this stunt, maybe a month or two ago? Every single manufacturer followed suit and raised their prices right along with them. So, yeah, it's the same old song and dance 🍿 ☕

Right now, the price of RTX 3070 is hovering around $1,000 to $1,100 both here and abroad, and even at those rates, stock sells out instantly. You might find something slightly cheaper here and there, but trying to snag one is basically a suicide mission...
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up a single PCIe 6 + 2 PIN cable for a GPU? It absolutely has to be compatible with my Seasonic Focus plus 1000 w, 80 PLUS Gold, SSR-1000FX. I've been scouring every corner of the web and haven't found anything besides eBay listings from overseas sellers who take two months to ship, and even then, there's no guarantee it'll actually show up at my door... 🤦 🙄

You can overclock via BCLK.

By the way, what were you running before this?

Honestly, the guys at the repair shop are complete morons. It was eating at me because the motherboard was relatively new, maybe about a year old. I put everything back together at home and realized that absolutely everything on the board was functioning perfectly. It wasn't until I opened up the power supply there that I saw the actual culprit: a component that had fried, shorted, and cracked, which is why the rest of the system was acting up.

My motherboard just bit the dust, so I'm looking to upgrade to a new 1151 socket setup. Since I have every intention of overclocking, I need to know which board would be the absolute best fit for this specific CPU. I'm looking for premium build quality and something that’s going to last me a long time...

Here is what I'm currently considering:
Intel Core i5-6600K (

ASUS ROG Maximus Z170
(

Four sticks of Corsair 4GB DDR4 2133 memory
(

As for my existing hardware:
Samsung 512 GB 850 Pro SSD
A 1TB HDD and a 500GB HDD
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 with Corsair components
Corsair 1000W TX
Corsair H80 Water cooling
NZXT Phantom Case

So, any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Kimberly Gomez34 said:No way. A VTX at that price point isn't worth it, and that CPU just doesn't offer enough value for the money.

8320e + Cooler Master DS (if it fits) + R9 280 windforce + you absolutely have to overclock it to at least 4.2 - 4.4 GHz (you shouldn't run into any issues doing that with an 8320e)

WoT actually runs smoother on Intel, but since you already have a solid motherboard, it would be a waste not to grab an 8320/8320e and push some OC. You can really feel the difference in WoT when you do.click

I agree, this looks like a solid setup. That's a nice graphics card.
I've got a bit of a dilemma here. Let's say I just sold some earrings on eBay for $4,000, and now I actually have to ship them out.

Usually, I just stick to standard mail—international registered shipping with an airmail option. Most of the time things arrive without much fuss, but the tracking is an absolute nightmare unless it's headed straight to the States, in which case it's fine enough.

It wasn't really an issue before because the maximum value of my items was around $1,000, which isn't exactly a high-stakes gamble if something goes sideways. Back then, I’d just use a slightly better level of protection by sending stuff via international UPS.

But with this jewelry, I need to be 100% covered. I need rock-solid tracking and a signature confirmation upon delivery so I have actual proof the package arrived. What is my best move here? I cannot afford to lose a shipment of this value; losing stuff through regular mail has happened to me way too many times, and nobody ever has any clue where it vanished to.😂 🤣

What should I use to send this? What's the most secure way to ship small, lightweight jewelry weighing about 100 grams?

By the time summer hits, I’m aiming to show off some seriously shredded chest, arms, legs, glutes, and just a much more ripped physique overall.😁
