Arming Ukraine in War in Ukraine ·
I've been saying for a long time that from the very start, the US should have just "donated" their drones to Ukraine, perhaps by setting up some third-party entity to maintain them on the ground while Americans fly them personally to take out Russian targets...

I’m hoping they get those anti-ship missiles ready soon... so we can watch those aggressor ships go up in flames.

Andrew Miller102 said:How serious, exactly?😁 You have to realize those are just old relics meant for defense and nothing else. It feels a bit pathetic, honestly, having to deploy a high-end Javelin against an outdated T72.

If the Ukrainians decide to go on the offensive, all those aging Russian tanks are going to be wiped out pretty quickly by local Russian anti-tank weapons.☕

- The RPG-29 is cheap, easy enough to handle, and incredibly effective.

The Ukrainians certainly won't use tanks with the same level of incompetence as the Russian military. Therefore, the T-72 and any other armor will serve them well...

I honestly don't understand why there's such a delay in delivering equipment like MiG-29s, various types of former Soviet armor and artillery, new drones, anti-ship missiles, extra air defense systems, and hundreds of tons of infantry gear and ammo. All of this was needed yesterday just to give the Ukrainian military any real maneuverability. Otherwise, it’s only a matter of time before the Russians encircle the east and keep pushing south...

Nathan Murphy said:I’ve been spending my last few days diving into a book about extinct animals. It’s a fascinating read, so I thought I’d share a few quick bullet points on what I learned regarding the Dodo bird.

The Dodo evolved on the incredibly isolated island of Mauritius. For its entire existence, it had zero natural predators. Nothing was hunting its eggs, and nothing was hunting them. There wasn't a single creature on that island that gave them a reason to feel fear. In fact, there was nothing in their environment that would ever trigger a flight response. As a result, the Dodo wandered everywhere without ever being in a hurry. I imagine if a tree were falling toward them or a hurricane was blowing through, they could find the burst of energy needed to move quickly, but otherwise, they lived an idyllic life completely free from enemies. There were other large animals on the island, like certain species of deer (which humans eventually wiped out by hunting them in massive numbers), but that coexistence lasted for ages. It wasn't until humans arrived on the shores that things changed. When people showed up, the Dodo didn't encounter anything trying to kill it—at least not at first. Their only natural reaction to these two-legged invaders was curiosity. They would wander right up to the newcomers, only to be met with a blow to the head or a blade to the throat.

The Dodo wasn't actually stupid. It wasn't any less intelligent than any other animal. It simply didn't possess the emotion of fear, nor did it recognize other living beings as threats. Because it couldn't comprehend danger, it had no way to react to protect itself from death. It did have a large, powerful beak, which it used against those bothering it... provided it actually had the chance.

The brief window of time where humans and Dodos shared the island wasn't long enough for the population as a whole to develop an instinct for fear. Perhaps a few individual birds—those that might have heard a distress call after being caught but somehow managed to escape—learned that humans were bad news. But as a species, after a million years of peace, 70 or 80 years isn't nearly enough time to evolve an instinctive sense of terror.

Because they were peaceful, gentle, and friendly, the Dodo earned a reputation for being "dumb." That wasn't true. They just lacked fear. And that lack of caution cost the entire species everything.

So, in honor of the Dodo, I want to award one final 🙏

Poor Dodo 😢

How many species have gone extinct in the last 200 years? Maybe 30 to 40%?
In the next 200 years, because of our expansion, we will likely cause the extinction of the other half. It makes me lose respect for the human race. We deserve to be put in our place by Mother Nature one day...

Steven Fox37 said:Exactly. This isn't the moment for endless debating or overthinking things; it's about taking action. We're talking about a move so unprecedented that no government in American history has ever pulled it off before. Honestly, we need to stop worrying about the "what ifs" and just go for it.
I've got a feeling that if you were running the show, we'd end up in such a mess that Joseph Clark37 would have to come back—but strictly on a business level.

Adam Lee13 said:I mean, looking at the gap between a Stinger and a Patriot US system, there isn't really much in the middle for Americans to work with... so if they're hinting at something "more serious," what on earth are we actually talking about here???😁

It's just Soviet-era systems being used by American allies.

There are American volunteers on the ground there. Especially those with personal ties to the region... family or spouses...

What if we're actually looking at some covert intelligence operative? You know, the kind specifically trained in electronic warfare. It’s entirely possible. 🤔

That's just a fancy way of calling someone a troll🤣

I post here when I feel like it, thanks...🕺

Wait, is Joseph Clark37 actually in the French Foreign Legion? 🤷

Just another Troll... 🤣

Larry Fox5 said:Before that, he was over in Syria—and that was while the war was still actually going on...

Whatever it is... honestly, who even cares at this point... 🙏 🙏 🙏

By the end of 2018, we were really only talking about Damascus and the areas near the Lebanese border. Fighting had actually died down in those specific spots a few months prior, even though the rest of the country was still at war. Still, the threat of a terrorist attack remained high enough that you could see the heavy military presence on every street corner... And on some nights, you could still hear the distant sound of the Israelis hitting targets near the Damascus airport... 😁

Paul Sanders5 said:Joseph Clark37, seriously, what’s your deal? Are you some kind of missionary or just working for Doctors Without Borders?

Or maybe you're out there peddling weapons—hey, no judgment here, it's a lucrative gig.

Kyle Campbell4 said:Joseph Clark37, if you happen to be some kind of paid mercenary or a trained soldier, then by all means, train me militarily so we can head over to Ukraine together and set things ablaze. Though, my impression is that the guy is actually just a humanitarian 🙏

I feel compelled to introduce you all to the Chechens fighting against the Russians. These are the fighters who simply refused to accept defeat during the second Chechen War. Consequently, they are now taking up arms on the side of the Ukrainians.

Sanctions on Russia in War in Ukraine ·
Morgan Morales4 said:In my view, the only certain result of these sanctions against Putin is the weakening of the EU—specifically Germany—and the worst part is that people don't seem to grasp what that actually looks like on the ground. Everyone forgets about the practical stuff: losing hot water in hospitals, or heating issues in ICUs, pediatric wards, daycare centers, and schools... I could go on. Now, the German Foreign Minister is talking about having to find housing for 8 million refugees across the EU. These economic sanctions show absolutely no sign of breaking Vladimir Putin or removing him politically, and there's no guarantee the world will be any better afterward, especially since two-thirds of the globe didn't join in on sanctioning Russia.

So we should all just stop the sanctions so our tourism industry doesn't suffer, right? And maybe the Ukrainians should just surrender so the fighting stops and we can have a record-breaking travel season...

Kyle Campbell4 said:Joseph won't be lecturing you. Feel free to return. Don't be such a coward 😁 and Darfur isn't exactly near Australia 🙂:

bluebison47 already explained that I pointed out my location immediately, but you just didn't catch it😁

I have no idea if there will be nuclear changes, and nobody is going to target Darfur🕺

Jonathan Barnes5 said:Honestly, this whole scene is starting to feel a bit like something straight out of a post-apocalyptic movie.

hehehe, a few years ago I was in Darfur in a place called Genein on the border with Chad. If anyone asked how it was, I'd tell them it looks like a nuclear war ended there just six months prior. Words can't describe it; you really have to experience it to understand. Now I'm in a town called Nyala. Compared to Genein, this feels like a major metropolis...😁

It feels like we are moving too fast... Perhaps a bit more patience is needed... Joseph Clark37 says:
They say things are just as wild in places like Las Vegas. The nightlife, the characters... it's definitely an intense scene...👍

I have a collection of sailors who spend more of their free time out on the water than they do in San Francisco... 😁

He mentioned that prices have climbed there too compared to how they used to be. Everything is just getting more expensive everywhere...🕺

Last night, certain loudmouths were brawling with people you can all easily guess.😉

If you start hearing reports in the news about the establishment of a joint NATO command center in Poland, feel free to go ahead and find yourself a functional fallout shelter that can actually withstand a nuclear strike.

I am safe on another continent, while you all have to manage within a NATO country...☕
