Ugh, I can't give you an exact number right now, but I had my checkup at the start of this school year—maybe September or October? They didn't tell me anything back then, it was just the exam itself. Then, a few weeks later, I got mail saying I could confirm my slot for September 2012. So, basically about a year. Maybe you've got a more complicated surgery on the schedule that takes longer to prep? Honestly, I have no clue why anyone would have to wait a full year and a half.🤷.
Sam Kim12 said:The way you say they explained it to you like it was nothing? Totally feels like we saw the same doctor. I’ve got an appointment with Dr. Poj in October, but I’ve been waiting since April 2011. They treated me like we were just grabbing coffee, whereas at the Oakland Warriors clinic, I actually got some honest answers.

I ended up getting an appointment with him too.🙂

I don't know, when I asked about it, he compared it to getting tonsils out and said it’s basically just a routine procedure. 🤷

Anyway, all I ever hear about him is good stuff.

I'm not really a panicker or anything, but this downtime is killing me because I'm active every single day...
John Bailey said:Hey everyone! 😁

I'm new here, but I know how to act on a forum 🙂

There are tons of posts here—I've scrolled through like 70% of them and noticed people pick surgery any time of year. I wanted to ask if the season actually matters? Like, is winter better than summer or what?

I just can't pull the trigger on surgery because the recovery time is killing me. I'm active basically every single day, and just thinking about being out for 2 months is enough to freak me out...

p.s. I'll post pics of my disaster later 😠

why would you be out for 2 months? don't scare me 🙂

I've got a date in September for a septum repair—purely functional, nothing aesthetic. The hospital told me it was such a breeze that I expected to be back to my normal routine by the next day 🤣
I hope you guys are talking about much more serious stuff, otherwise this seems... 🙂

Then again, my mom had a super similar procedure a year ago and she had bad swelling for quite a while. She couldn't even eat and looked pretty rough, but it was still only about 2 weeks before she was totally fine, including getting back into sports. 🤷

Anyway, anyone have experience with the Rib?

You can't win with teachers. If they do nothing, you're mad. If they actually step up, you're still mad.

Just think about it. A mom lets her kid go on a field trip without enough cash for McDonald's—which is what everyone else is getting—and the teacher has to lend them the money. Otherwise, the kid just sits there feeling left out. And we all know how that goes. At best, kids whisper behind their back. Honestly? They’ll probably get teased right to their face. And what’s the fix? Is it "parenting"? Should the teacher jump in? Yeah, obviously it's a parenting issue, but regardless of who's at fault, that kid is going to feel like absolute garbage. They’ll shut down and become even more withdrawn. Sure, the teacher should act, but she isn't with them 24/7, and the bullying is still gonna happen. There will always be jerks, and they aren't going to stop picking on your kid. In that moment, the kid doesn't care if those bullies are "well-raised" or not.

Just scrape the money together so the kid doesn't feel different or miss out. They don't need the humiliation on top of everything else.

As for what the teacher did, you can't really say anything until Kimberly Robinson talks to her. The only weird part to me is that she was hounding the kid in the hallway every day about the money. Everything else seems fine to me, though I wouldn't dream of asking for the money back. Then again, maybe that money is a huge deal for her, so I get why she's doing it...
