Why doesn't God share His knowledge? in Religion ·
Benjamin Taylor6 said:But how can you be so sure that's "wrong"? Did you actually test it out for yourself, or are you just repeating what everyone else told you? 😕

Neither.
If we accept the premise that knowledge draws us closer to the ultimate reality and that Jesus truth is our guiding light, then abandoning reason and intellectual inquiry is fundamentally the wrong approach—at best, it simply makes the journey an unnecessarily long and arduous one.

Alexander Price74 said:...I don't get it... what does knowledge have to do with truth, and how does knowing things supposedly bring us closer to God? Sure, maybe institutional spirituality—which is what this thread is actually about—suggests that, though I have no clue how, especially with all that "expulsion from Eden" nonsense... but these other vibes... let's just call them New Age... they're all about shutting down the mind... transcendence... wouldn't cutting everything else out (including knowledge) be the way to become (p)art of the One?

From my perspective, knowledge and truth are inextricably linked. Are you suggesting that acquiring knowledge somehow results in false claims?
According to Christian faith, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life—meaning that grasping the truth (knowing things as they truly are) is precisely what leads one toward Jesus, and by extension, toward God.
It's clear to me that I disagree with the New Age movement; in my view, it attempts to guide a person toward God through the wrong door entirely.

Leo Tolstoy once observed:
To get back to the point... I’m certainly no theologian, but seeing this topic sparked a few lingering questions in my mind:
Doesn't knowledge actually distance us from God?

Not at all. If God truly exists, then seeking knowledge and uncovering the truth can only serve to draw us closer to Him.

Nobody has seen an alien, does that mean they don't exist?

Have you ever seen an atom? I know you haven't, but does that mean atoms aren't real? You've never "seen" gravity either—by your logic, it probably doesn't exist. Why don't you test that by jumping off a fifty-meter bridge?

People in Europe didn't know about America for a long time.

People all over the world didn't know about Yahweh-Jesus-Allah for a long time either.

nor did they have any proof that it existed,

Nor did they have any concept of this sick idea until crackpots like you infested this planet...

but it existed nonetheless.

Yahweh-Jesus-Allah might exist, but only inside the delusional minds of certain people.😉

Where exactly am I claiming that atheists make such an assertion?
Austin Martinez20 insists that He simply isn't there.😉
Frankly, the rest of this rambling text is just a collection of nebulous nonsense that fails to address my actual questions.
Consider this the final post I'll be dedicating to you.

I’m telling you there’s a six-headed dragon living in the sky that breathes fire and pees rain... can you prove that dragon isn't real?

I am under no obligation to assert His existence.
The absence of visual evidence for aliens doesn't serve as a logical proof of their nonexistence, does it?
Historically, people in Europe were entirely unaware of America and possessed absolutely no empirical evidence of its reality, yet the continent was there all along, regardless of their ignorance.

And just how exactly do you plan on proving a negative?

Not really.

It's a good thing that God tests who's trash...

Then why bother creating trash in the first place?
To fill Hell with it forever? Is there a lack of entertainment in Heaven?

Otherwise, we'd spend eternity living next to a pile of garbage that God just decided to mask the stench of...

Well, you'll be living "next to a pile of garbage" too if you believe in eternal Hell. St. Fool says the blessed in Heaven spend their time staring down at the damned in Hell, feeling happy about their suffering—even if they're their own kids. So yeah, you'll spend all eternity right next to that "trash" of men and women.

Question for you...

🙂

1. Would you want to live for all eternity next to someone who, if God tested them with free will, wouldn't just assault your family, but wouldn't even feel a shred of regret for doing it?

a.) Living forever next to something you can never escape sounds like a total nightmare to me. I'd rather just vanish in an instant or melt into something else than stare at God for eternity.

b.) Why does someone choose to commit such an act? Maybe because "God gave them" a broken brain lacking empathy, some degenerate DNA... Or maybe the Devil talked them into it? Jesus couldn't change his heart, but surely he could change someone else's? Still, it's a pretty powerful angel fighting and gambling against God. lol

I don't get where people get the idea that there are people among us so purely evil that they deserve eternal torture. It's a monstrous way to think.

Who exactly is this St. Fool, and could you provide a specific source for this claim you're making?
