You’re right, I actually found all of this quite charming up until now. But honestly, I’ve started avoiding coffee dates with my own godmother for the time being, because the second she sees me, the laughing starts and she just won't stop. Look, I get it—I'm 4'11", carrying an extra 65 pounds, dealing with a massive belly, and already sporting a baby that feels way too big for my frame. It's ridiculous. And yeah, since it's freezing out, I'm stuck wearing my mother's oversized coats because nothing else fits, which makes me look like a freaking penguin. But her constant snickering isn't doing a single thing to help me power through these last few weeks. 😢
I can certainly empathize with husbands and fathers when they give me that blank, weary stare while I’m having a meltdown—especially since my own husband loves to tell me I’m being "impossible." But honestly, when my mother insists that mood swings and postpartum depression simply didn't exist back in her day, I genuinely start to worry that there might be something fundamentally wrong with her head. 🙄
It feels as though my brain is operating at roughly 20% capacity today. Honestly, I have to write everything down because my memory is completely shot. I left my bike outside my house, and naturally, it vanished within minutes. To make matters worse, I neglected to drive my car, so now it keeps stalling on me—something that hasn't happened once in the last ten years.
Now, every single time the engine dies, I immediately burst into tears.🙂
I am definitely my own worst enemy during this pregnancy. These mood swings are absolutely killing me; I’ll be laughing one second and sobbing the next. I’ve turned into such a sensitive, clingy mess, which is honestly embarrassing because that is usually the last person I want to be.😱 What has your experience been like? Is there any light at the end of the tunnel, or will this actually stop?
