... everything has barely been worn because we ended up with way too much stuff last winter (yeah, I definitely overdid it😉), including some really pricey coats like Tommy Hilfiger, an incredibly comfy dark blue jacket from Esprit, an Obaibi 2 in 1 set, an Oliver snowsuit, a Zara jacket, plus some little snowsuits from Gap and Ian...

...if you think something looks overpriced, just throw out your own estimates😍
Hey there, Maria Rogers63!
I’m the mom of a little girl who is just wrapping up her first year of elementary ballet school—that's after she already spent three years in those preparatory classes. Her feet are pretty much "turned in," which basically means she doesn't have that natural physical predisposition for ballet, though she absolutely loves it. That said, she really struggles with a lot of the exercises and positions... I was wondering if anyone here has gone through something similar?
Dana Martin87 said:Moms obsessed with strollers. I had no idea this phenomenon even existed until I got pregnant myself. Everyone tries to convince you that a stroller without a bassinet is a terrible choice—even people like me who think a bassinet is just consumerist greed, a gimmick, and total nonsense. Until now, I only knew about guys who obsess over cars; now I’ve realized there are groups of women who obsess over strollers in the exact same way.
God, I was reading a Chicago forum where some expectant mom says she wants to buy a Stokke stroller, and another woman responds, totally dead serious, "Why would you get a Stokke? Every other person in Chicago has them, just buy a Bugaboo." Helloooo? In Chicago, every other person is starving, not driving a Stokke, and what does it matter how many identical strollers are on the street? Is the only thing that matters if they're comfortable for the baby?!
I used to be disgusted by car guys; now I'm disgusted by their wives too.
And since I'm already on a pre-labor rant: Women who smoke, eat junk food, drink Coke and alcohol, and dye their hair during the first three months of pregnancy while simultaneously claiming pregnancy is the best thing that ever happened to them. Just be honest: "I hate this kid in my womb and I want it to die." Seriously, who are you kidding? If you can't give up something for nine months that threatens your baby's health, don't act like you're overjoyed.
Or those "virgin moms" who act all shocked at women having sex during a healthy pregnancy. If the pregnancy is healthy, sex should just add to the bliss. Amen.
Then there are the women who splurge on high-end stuff like Johnson & Johnson and think that's why they didn't get stretch marks. The cheapest Walmart almond oil and the most expensive luxury cream will have the exact same effect on the final result. I learned that the hard way.
Oh, and the hospital drama. When for the tiniest little thing—just a routine checkup—a woman, her husband, her mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa all start making connections that aren't there, spreading panic into a perfectly normal situation.
Pregnant women who brag about only gaining 10 pounds by 40 weeks, while they could easily carry someone like me who gained 20 kilos. Honestly, this whole weight talk drives me crazy.
And the women who preach about breastfeeding. I don't care one bit whether I breastfeed or not. If I have milk, I'll nurse, but for a maximum of six months because it's proven that after that, breast milk loses its properties and mostly just serves to soothe the baby, which feels like pure perversion to me. So, if there's milk, I'll nurse until six months; if not, I won't, and that's that.
There's more where that came from...
Bravo to the mom from Boston, I agree with most of what you said (you certainly let it all out!—silentraven6 teases me that in these last few weeks I'm like someone from a folk song saying "I don't love... such is my nature," ha ha)...except regarding breastfeeding...the longer the baby stays on mom's milk rather than cow's milk or something else, the better—it's vital prevention against future allergies to everything and anything (I'm waiting for my third and hope to nurse him for at least a year; my first was 15 months, the second was 18 months—unforgettable moments, believe me!) Felix the Cat and good luck!!!
A little while back, I was really torn about whether I should go through the hassle of trying to get an emergency referral for surgery—specifically that laser procedure I’ve been eyeing, which runs about $4000 at a private clinic, plus the consultation costs around $267, money I just don't have right now—or if I should just give Pilex another shot. Michael Diaz4 was the one who suggested I just bite the bullet and go for the surgery. But, honestly, I ended up buying those tablets anyway (I mean, what else was I supposed to do? It felt like my absolute last resort...), went through a 14-day course that cost me nearly $200, and I have to say, after what feels like a lifetime of misery, I feel amazing. The bleeding has stopped entirely, and while the pain actually spiked quite intensely at first, it eventually just subsided. I’m under no illusions that this is a permanent fix; the instructions mention taking a half dose every six months just as a preventative measure. It might not be the ultimate solution, but it’s such a massive relief. (And hey, once my little troublemakers grow up a bit, maybe I'll finally be ready for something more permanent, both financially and in terms of my schedule...).
Basically, I've been dealing with hemorrhoids ever since my last baby arrived. Up until now, I’ve just been getting by with some Vaseline and using wipes whenever things got uncomfortable... and honestly, it was working fine. But clearly, my body has decided it’s done playing nice, because nothing seems to touch them anymore. Now I’m stuck at a bit of a crossroads: should I try a course of Pfizer tablets, or is it actually time to look into surgery at a specialized clinic—specifically a hemorrhoidoplasty with Dr. Smith in Washington, D.C.? They have a website, and after reading through their articles, I’ve started feeling like it might be time to take action, especially since my symptoms have progressed to stage three in the meantime😢😲! Does anyone here have any actual insight or firsthand experience regarding that specific surgery😕, the clinic itself, or should I just stick to my guns and try one more 14-day regimen with those Pfizer pills🤷 instead🙏? Thanks
Hey everyone. I’ve been dealing with the occasional bout of hemorrhoids since my second child was born about five and a half years ago—the nurses told me later that I just wasn't pushing quite right during labor🤷. Honestly, I probably knew what to do the first time, and I definitely would have known by the third... After a year of pure confusion and trial and error (to be fair, I didn't even realize what was actually hurting me at first), I finally "discovered" the perfect combo of cream and suppositories—it's been a total game-changer. This whole thing usually flares up after the holidays—you know, when life slows down and I start overindulging in sweets—or whenever I travel, dealing with long car rides, changes in climate, or shifts in my diet... It only happens a few times a year. When it hits, I just apply that cream and everything settles down within a day or two. As for the suppositories, I only used them maybe three or four times in five years; you really only need those for ten days if you let things get a bit too intense—I find it’s better to just jump on it with the cream immediately before it develops into something worse. A couple of days ago at the clinic, they told me I can't just grab that specific ointment over the counter anymore because it contains corticosteroids and antibiotics😲😕(so that explains why it worked like magic!!!), so I ended up buying some random propolis-based stuff instead, but it’s basically useless water. Now I have to see a doctor to get a prescription! Anyway, I highly recommend this particular cream👍, so go ahead and get a script, especially if things aren't an absolute emergency, if you know what you're dealing with, and if you just want to learn how to live with "them"🙂!
