When I asked my doctor for the referral, she mentioned that blood work could only be performed at the local health clinic in our city.

That is exactly what my GP told me, and my daughter's pediatrician said the same thing, so I assume it is the case. I haven't looked into it further.

Yeah, I didn't even get an automated response, so I probably messed something up on the form.

I just submitted a request for a surgical consultation via the Dubrava Hospital online portal. It says I should receive an email confirmation once they've received my order, but nothing has hit my inbox yet. Does that usually arrive instantly, or is there typically a delay? How much longer should I wait before following up?

It absolutely infuriates me when I tell someone my baby is a girl and they immediately jump in with, "Oh, but so-and-so was a girl too and ended up being a boy," or "A girl can always turn into a boy later." My response is always just that I couldn't care less about those labels...
Why do people feel the need to comment on this in the first place?

Can anyone recommend a good private gastroenterologist?
It's for my dad; he's seeing blood in his stool and the hospital won't be able to see him until the end of the month. We're too worried to wait that long, so we're thinking about going private.
