Ugh, just thinking back to all the unsolicited advice I received during my first pregnancy...
Honestly, if I could go back, I’d give everyone a piece of my mind:
-how my life was basically over, how I’d eventually have to get rid of the dog, or those condescending "just you wait" comments from people acting like they knew better than me (By the way, I'm 37, so excuse me if I know what I'm doing)... then there was the judgment about how I "sacrificed" my first night postpartum. Apparently, I was a total failure because even though I felt completely wiped out, had stitches, and couldn't even walk to the bathroom alone without help, it was somehow all my fault because I didn't get the baby latched immediately. Then they turned it into this whole thing about why I had mastitis, how I shouldn't have used formula, why I allowed them to do the episiotomy, why I needed the amniotic sac rupture, or how I "ruined" the experience by asking for an epidural...
Well, you can all just deal with it.
Now that I'm on my second, I've lost my filter entirely.
Basically, I just shut the conversation down or suddenly remember I have somewhere else to be. Like, bye.
Yes, I am probably going to work as hard as a beast during labor again (at least, I hope so😁), and yes, I am absolutely going to make sure I get to sleep ALONE the first night after delivery. I am actually looking forward to when my milk dries up and I can stop nursing, and if I run into the same issues as last time, I swear I won't struggle—I'll just switch to formula and call it a day.

It usually boils down to someone undermining my ideas—my plans, my vision, whatever—once the baby arrives. It feels like as soon as I come up with something I genuinely believe is feasible, the other side is just itching to swoop in and ruin it before it even has a chance to happen... What is it about people that makes them act this way? 😁
Oh goodness....... please, do tell...🤦
I constantly run into groups of people who try to convince me that my life is over, or that I won't be "me" anymore, or "just you wait," and all that nonsense...
Since there isn't any other way to handle it, I've just started avoiding those types of people altogether, and it's been wonderful. My patience has become incredibly thin during this pregnancy, and frankly, I simply don't have the energy or the desire to deal with that kind of negativity...

I feel exactly like someone who used to go for an intense run every single day. And it has absolutely nothing to do with physical activity. Even my heart feels like it skips a beat occasionally, just for no reason, like while I'm waiting for the bus, for example...
👍

I have zero intention of putting my entire life on hold once our little lady arrives. We'll just pop her into the world and go. Obviously, things won't be exactly the same as they were before, but you'd probably realize that when you decide to have a kid in the first place. It’s gonna be great! 🙂
😁👍🎉
That is pretty much exactly it, and I couldn't agree more!
I found myself weeping quite uncontrollably yesterday, much like a heavy summer thunderstorm rolling through the Midwest...😢 It appears my hormones have finally hit that magic 100 mark and decided to start working... finally...
So, we have a friend visiting us at the house, and I’m just sitting here listening to him tell my dear partner that everything is changing now... he’s basically telling him that he’s going to lose his edge, that things will never be the same again, and that he needs to just forget about how things used to be because, apparently, his vision is just set in stone like that... honestly, good grief, we aren't all programmed the exact same way!
I find myself wondering, quite honestly, which specific type of individual seems destined to drift through my life... I truly have to ask myself if I am simply prone to stumbling headlong into such absolute nonsense at every single turn...
I feel like I’m starting to spread out in every direction... :/
Until recently, I was constantly hitting the pavement, logging massive mileage and pushing myself through endless marathons, but now? It feels like I've completely lost my rhythm.
I honestly don't even recognize my own body or how it responds anymore....😢
The past week has honestly felt like a low-budget horror movie...
first it was a stomach bug with all the vomiting, then the cramps—I couldn't tell if it was gastritis, an intestinal issue, or something much more sinister, heaven forbid—then it would subside, only to be replaced by these splitting headaches. I can barely even sprint for the bus, which is frustrating because I’ve been out running about 5 or 6 miles every single day... it’s just one of those times where my own body feels like it's actively working against me, though I try to remind myself that this is temporary and it will all pass eventually. 🙂
I actually had plans to head out to a birthday party, but I was feeling so wretched I couldn't even bring myself to leave the house, but then, thankfully, I woke up the next morning feeling like a brand-new person, ah well...
but still, as someone who isn't exactly known for having flawless skin (I've picked up a few blemishes on my face that I certainly didn't have back in high school 😢), let's be real—pretending that all of this is "beautiful," "wonderful," or "healing" is just plain silly! hehehe
😁

now you can just dwell on it endlessly if you want, my dear brother, but you already know the reason—don't mourn it, don't complain, just be happy 🙂
personally, I’m hoping to achieve as much as possible once I recover from childbirth, but after that... well, it is what it is. I know for a fact that my life isn't ending; if anything, it's just getting started :P
It honestly stung so much when people started telling me that now that I’m pregnant—and especially once I actually give birth—everything just... stops.
My life is supposed to end? Like, everything just ceases to exist??
The suggestion that I should just abandon my fitness routine and stop focusing on myself, as if I’m just going to clock out at 3 p.m. every day... I usually try to be patient, but I have a pretty short fuse when it comes to this kind of nonsense, though I've tried to hold back until now. Lately, I can't even deal it anymore; I've actually lost some good friends because of his wife, who is just such a judgmental person and frankly, a complete nightmare to be around. I just don't have the energy for that drama. :/
I am an athlete at heart and I still am. I'm four months along now, and I fully intend to stay active, just like so many of my other female friends who prioritize fitness and an active lifestyle—adjusting things as needed for the pregnancy, of course, and then continuing after the baby arrives. I truly cannot wrap my head around why so many women suffer through this and feel forced to give up their entire lives after having kids... which, by the way, is what babies are for???
Anyway, I’m feeling quite worked up about it all right now...🙂
