I swear, I have to field that exact question at least ten times a day. And let's be honest—nobody actually cares about the answer. It's just some mindless social script people run because, apparently, that's what you're supposed to ask an expectant mother when you see her out in public. 😁

"I'm fine, I guess, but I haven't been able to use the restroom in three days, I'm completely bloated, and the gas is unbearable."

You hit the nail on the head... I hadn't even realized it until now, yet here I am, answering that same question on a daily basis... yeah... and then everyone follows it up with those patronizing comments like, "Oh, hang in there, just a little longer!"
The constant swelling in my legs is honestly driving me insane and weighing me down emotionally 😲😲
It’s reached a point where I can’t fit into any of my shoes; even my favorite cotton flip-flops provide some relief because they don't squeeze, but even my go-to Crocs at home won't slide on anymore
What really gets under my skin, though, is the actual pain caused by this swelling, which means I can't get out for walks like I used to... although, to be fair, the constant pressure on my bladder makes long strolls pretty much impossible anyway
This past month has been an absolute struggle
And don't even get me started on the transition from lying down to standing up—it feels like I'm attempting to scale a mountain every single time
On top of all that, there's this persistent exhaustion, which I’m pretty sure is being fueled by this brutal American summer heat
I know I'm probably just venting and getting on my own nerves by complaining, but it's hard to help myself when things feel this heavy 🤦
I was also on the Nifty regimen, and during those first four months, I dealt with such aggressive breakouts that people would practically recoil when they saw my face... Eventually, everything finally settled down, though I’m still left with these persistent red marks everywhere the acne used to be 😢

The only insight I ever got was from my sister, who mentioned after talking to her doctor that it’s actually quite plausible that being on the pill could cause this kind of facial reaction due to the surge in male hormones 😲
I’ve already had both my mother and my mother-in-law dropping hints about stepping in to help, though I am sincerely hoping my husband can swing some vacation time so he can be right there by our side while I still maintain my own independence...
I honestly find myself in a bit of an uncertain headspace regarding how this will actually play out, because it feels like one of those situations where everything might go perfectly smoothly and I won't need a single hand, yet I could just as easily hit a wall with a hundred different issues and suddenly find myself needing everyone's support at once... I suppose I won't truly know until we are actually in the thick of it, but at least I know I have plenty of options on the table if things get complicated.

On the flip side, you have the people with zero empathy who act like being pregnant isn't a medical condition. They expect everything to be business as usual. Like those people on the subway who won't even offer a seat.

I couldn't agree more... My husband is incredibly caring and is constantly hovering around me, refusing to let me even touch the vacuum cleaner 🤣🤣 which can be quite jarring at times, but as the pregnancy progresses and I realize how much less I'm actually able to do, I've stopped letting it get to me...
As for the other thing, oh yes, I hear that primarily from my mother and it drives me absolutely crazy; she just couldn't wrap her head around why I spent all day stuck in bed dealing with morning sickness when she used to be out working the fields every single day and didn't vomit once 🙂 but my husband always shuts her down with a firm, "Well, my wife isn't you." 🙂
