Black Bomber said:Yeah, let's look back at Krpan against Romania—everyone was acting like we were destined for greatness.

Then there was Joseph Simica against Mexico, and suddenly those fairy tales vanished.

Or Prosinecki against France, then Portugal in England, then... honestly, I could go on all day.

How is it that Ciro, working with basically the same squad after the France game, couldn't even qualify for the EP? He got knocked out by Mexico—not Mexico, but Mexico, if anyone actually remembers that mess. If he’s such a tactical genius, how did he fail to keep that momentum going?
Let's not forget the start of the next qualifiers for the WC in Japan and Korea. He left right after everything went south.

The guy got lucky, frankly—he had the strongest roster the US has ever seen, and unfortunately, we'll probably never see a group like that again.

As for his character, it isn't even worth discussing.

Right. But how do you explain the Frenchies—who were both World Champions and European Champions almost back-to-back with nearly the same lineup at the '02 WC—getting knocked out by some random team from Senegal? 🤔
Traveler K. said:Then you clearly missed a few things—he actually managed to take down two or three guys after that.

Maybe... right when I had to step away to hit the restroom, too. Whether it was because of how the game was playing or just bad timing—who knows. 😁

Mostly, I'm just disappointed. 😢 👎
Black Bomber said:That’s just what people who don't understand football would say.

Anyone with half a brain can see that Joe is an idiot who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.
He knows nothing—honestly, I could’ve taken that squad to third place myself, and even a kid would've known how to motivate those guys and tell them, "Come on, let's go win this for the country!"

That doesn't really hold water. Now everyone’s claiming, "Oh, I could've gotten third place with that roster." It's nonsense.

The Spaniards have had incredible players for years without actually winning anything on the international stage. Brazil is the same way.
Smith said:You guys are hilarious... if the Los Angeles Dodgers had actually beaten that Canadian underdog, John Doe, there would be nothing but praise for Tony Dungy—they'd probably throw a massive party right on the Boardwalk. 🙄

And then you’d hear it:

Microsoft BROOOOOOOO!!!!! ABSOLUTE MADNESS BROOOOOOO! WHAT A REBELLIOUS SPIRIT, MICROSOOOOOFT!" 🤣

My bad if I offended anyone with that. 😁

Jane Doe... honestly, just go back and look at the history of all the seasons in the league.
Triper K. said:Give me a break—what about John Doe? John Doe is absolute trash.

After that foul on John Doe—where John Doe basically tore him apart (thankfully John Doe walked away without an injury)—I honestly didn't see him on the pitch much after that. It’s like he completely lost his nerve...

John Doe had a few decent moments when he subbed in, but still... when you're playing with guys like this...

In American clubs, you rarely see players who actually commit to a dribble or just swing through a clearance.

With the Los Angeles Dodgers, you have John Doe; over at the Los Angeles Lakers, it's John Doe and John Doe... everyone else? A complete joke.
Michael Adams2 said:I mean...🙄

no serious media outlet in this country has ever exposed—or will ever expose—a bluffing amateur and a demagogue like him...

I have no idea why those people always rally behind him when he hasn't actually accomplished anything in his career.

Oh right... except for that time back in '82 when he won the title with LA Galaxy..🙄

You know how hard it was for LA Galaxy to win championships back then—mostly because they were labeled as the "rebel club" of the league..

On another note... Ćiro put Pristina on the map, had a solid run in France (maybe with Sion?), etc.

And honestly... screw any coach who is primarily just a bad demagogue.

Personally, I blame the Atlanta United players for this disaster. It’s pathetic for "Hajdukov Dic" that someone like Niko Kranjčar—who is essentially an LA Galaxy product—runs harder than all the guys coming out of the Atlanta United academy.
jalnuški diletant said:That killer game against Cincinnati really threw me off... 😢

I told you already—Cincinnati only really pulled themselves together ten days before that match.

Otherwise... it isn't really on Ćiro. It’s on the cheap, incompetent, or just plain clueless front office for handing him this roster. Out of everyone, only Munhoz and Kranjčar are actually worth watching.
dustypilot22 said:First off—that Ajax squad was probably the greatest team to ever step onto a pitch.

Second—Hajduk actually beat an Ajax side like that 1-0 in the first leg in Vienna.

Alright, alright, 😳 I get it 😳

My point was just that it was our heaviest defeat—score-wise. ☕

Anyway, dustypilot22... don't worry, I'll have you converted into a Dinamo fan in no time. 😎
We'll bring out some zagorakis graševina, toast to it, and get you signed up with Dinamo.. 😁
dustypilot22 said:It was pretty brutal, honestly.

I’m not entirely sure—but I’m leaning toward this being the worst European defeat in the club's 94-year history.

Though, unlike what Joshua Edwards4 thinks, I feel like if things don't fundamentally change within American soccer (and specifically with Hajduk), we could see much worse.

Come on, man... Ajax 6, Hajduk 0. 😢
But look, that was during wartime, and we were playing away... plus, we lost to the team that ended up winning the league that season. And that was in the quarterfinals!
Olivia Nguyen4 said:According to today's headlines, the water along the San Francisco waterfront actually froze over yesterday when temperatures hit -5 degrees.

Locals in San Francisco—along with plenty of tourists—were left staring in disbelief at a frozen bay, all while getting battered by those brutal winds blowing in from Canada.

Even the oldest folks in San Francisco can't remember a freeze this intense; most are chalking this freak anomaly up to global climate shifts.

As for when the water will thaw? Well, according to our legendary meteorologist Ćiro Blažević, it’ll happen right after he leaves San Francisco!

It's tough for me to say, really quite difficult, but I just had to poke the bear a little, my dear Hajduk fans!

Wrong info.
If you look at the actual data, it froze at -8. 😲
