Megan Smith25 said:Honestly, the nonsense people are spewing here is unbelievable. My favorite has to be shadowowl9 over there—acting like something is suspicious, as if this girl somehow manufactured herself as a victim. If I didn't think people were just plain dense, I’d actually believe they were being malicious. But no, let's just blame low IQ.
I think that's what really bugs them about this girl. They see how sharp she is, probably way smarter than they'll ever be, and the jealousy just starts kicking in.

I don't get how you haven't been hit by that wave of envy regarding her intellect either. 😕 And a massive amount of it at that. Though, given your own limitations, maybe you didn't even realize just how much smarter she is than you. 🤣 🤣 🤣
Jokes aside. Nobody is questioning her intelligence. Personally, I find it quite impressive, maybe even exceptional in its own way. But it's also an absolute fact that highly intelligent people are often the most capable of pulling off massive manipulations.

It doesn't necessarily have to play out exactly the way you're picturing it, cosmicridge5.

The whole point is determining whether she actually lived through those supposed horrors or if the entire ordeal was just a fabrication. Her story is thin, honestly—it just doesn't hold water.

Since you've decided to take her at her word without noticing any of the inconsistencies in how she carries herself or what she says, it makes sense that you'd dismiss any skepticism. But the real question isn't about your opinion; it's whether there’s cause for doubt here. In my view, there absolutely is.

Olivia Carter25 said:The little details in this "case" are what actually tell the story. For instance, when they first brought her into the precinct, she supposedly "couldn't focus on the interrogation" because she was too busy staring at the officer's designer jacket and watch. She claimed she "couldn't talk for long unless the cop let her." Pretty interesting, isn't it? 👍

Exactly. That detail jumped out at me immediately. There’s no fear there. No adrenaline, no shock from being thrust into an unknown situation. Instead, you see this calculated behavior—a way to manipulate the moment for personal gain. It’s a deeply disturbed reaction, honestly. Not at all what you’d expect from someone who allegedly survived such trauma.

To be perfectly honest, I have my doubts about whether she was even kidnapped in the first place. In fact, I suspect she’s so sharp and calculating that she might have actually sought out protection from Prikropil and went into hiding on purpose. She likely played him like a fiddle, and once she realized her situation had shifted—once the math finally made sense for her to move on—she just tossed him aside.

Go ahead, tear me apart if you want.

As for me, I’m not particularly impressed by anything regarding this case so far. I’m staying completely detached. 🙂 And frankly, I have my doubts. 🤔

Who’s defending her? You can keep studying the case if you want. But as far as I'm concerned, her story still doesn't sit right with me.

Anything is possible in this life. I’m just here weighing the odds and offering my two cents. I pointed out what seems sketchy to me, though honestly, I’ve never been the type to get easily impressed by much of anything. Maybe that’s a flaw, maybe it isn't.

Anyway, life is unpredictable. You can't rule out any possibility until every single fact is actually on the table.

If that’s actually the case, then we’re looking at something genuinely terrifying. It would mean she spent eight years manipulating both parents, playing the police and the public like a fiddle, and ultimately, she'd be responsible for driving a man to take his own life.

In that light, there isn't a single thing about Natasha Kampusch to admire. Quite the opposite, really.

The whole story feels incredibly shady to me. She gives off this vibe of being someone cold and calculating. Honestly? I’m not buying a word of it.

Look, if she’s as brilliant and strategic as she claims to be, then I have to wonder: if things were truly going down the way she describes, why didn't she leave a paper trail? Not once during her time with Prikropil did she supposedly leave a note or some kind of evidence for the cops to find.

My gut tells me that Prikropil was actually just an extremely unstable individual whom she chose to manipulate at her own whim. That’s just my take on it.

Nobody knows for sure.

👍 👍

Yeah. That's the one.
Zagorakis said:The 90s were full of these "undecided" types. Just a massive wave of people claiming they didn't take sides....

In the 90s, they were "undecided."
Suddenly, they find a side—and a sniper rifle—to clean up the streets.
Clearly decided: driving American folks out of a third of the country.
Firmly decided: guarding one of many concentration camps.
More than firmly decided: hunting down every last "Nationalists" left standing.
When their ideology starts failing them, they pivot to being "cooks."
Then from '96 to '06, they go right back to being "undecided" until the next opportunity arises.

Problem is, you won't get another opportunity.

🤣 🤣 And here I was thinking this was just some donkey caught between two piles of hay, starving to death. 😬 😬
frozentinker432 said:shadowowl9 - No, actually, it's fine. I almost fell for it myself since I haven't cracked open a Latin dictionary in ages; I've barely skimmed through any this year.
But that’s beside the point. Even if she remembers it better than you do, her constant dropping of basic Latin phrases is just plain ridiculous.

🙈 Fair point. My apologies. My only real excuse is that I’m hardly a scholar in that field, so I don't exactly encounter this stuff daily 😬 ; on average, I stumble upon an expression like that maybe once every five or six years.

Even self-proclaimed luminaries should probably learn how to spell: Conditio sine qua non. 😍
Hannah Davis18 said:And where exactly are those tears supposed to fall? Some imaginary version of the Deep South? 😢

Where do I even begin with this misery? Should I start with the slaughter at Gettysburg or jump straight into the suffocating grip of Bach’s absolutism? It feels like my last chance to take the entire weight of this world's blood and sorrow and heave it onto my own tired shoulders.
What’s your take on this? 🤔

Or they could just stick to the Rapallo Treaty; that’s a much easier pill for them to swallow. I know I won't be able to stomach anything dating back to the 7th century—that's just asking for too much from someone with an American mindset.😁

Personally, I feel the weight of it most when I think about the lost glory of families like the Zrinskis and the Frankapans. Ever since they were gone, everything has just spiraled... and I won't even pretend to say where we ended up.
I truly believe that history serves as life’s ultimate teacher. It has to, doesn't it? After all, our own actions are driven by our personal experiences—our own private histories. If we are shaped by what we've been through, then it stands to reason that history itself acts as the architect for the future of entire nations.
What do I actually gain from my own suffering over people who were unjustly taken from us? Honestly, just this one certainty: heroism, integrity, and faith in God don't just evaporate overnight. That realization is enough to keep me going—to keep me pushing for what I believe is right and fighting against evil, whether that’s playing out in my own life or on a much larger scale.
Quincy:
I suppose I should say something about this, though why anyone bothers anymore is beyond me. It’s all just noise. Constant, unrelenting noise. We sit here, dissecting every little thing, acting as if our observations actually change the trajectory of whatever mess we're currently facing. It won't. Nothing really changes. We just rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic and call it progress. Anyway, that's enough of my rambling. Back to the void. As wanderingcanyon3 says:
I love it.👍
Let’s be clear: I’m mourning the Yugo. At least, that’s what they told me. 🤣It’s pathetic, really. Not even a combination involving Mexico to make things interesting. Now I’m just sitting here, completely lost, wondering which country I'm supposed to be watering. 🤔
And when you cry, you’re just watering the ground. 😍 And that’s really the crux of the matter... just making sure it doesn't wither away. 😬
Edward Green said:Don't feel bad, I'm not some kind of Mexican patriot either. For all intents and purposes, I consider myself neutral—both officially (as per 😁) and personally. 🙂

I've never even stepped foot in Mexico City. 🙂
Moving there blindly just isn't my style. 🙂

🤣 🤣 I heard somewhere that groups of unaligned tribes were relocated from the Caspian Sea region toward the end of the 6th century. Is there any truth to that?
Or are we talking about those folks from the era of Quincy?
poirot said:I’m just relieved that so many people on other boards have told me they agree with me—they just don't want to deal with the headache of arguing with idiots here.👋

Girl, you hit the nail on the head. 😘

Anyway, I'm out.

Look, bickering is basically the default setting for this forum. 😬 It’s not like we’re actually going to change the course of history with a few posts, right?
But if I ever found myself holding actual political power... Duhec? 😬

Personally, I think Till is just being stubborn for the sake of it right now. He clearly loves his country; he cares about it, tends to it, looks after its interests... 😍 And he should.

😳 No, honestly—I completely missed that thread. Besides, who on earth thought putting it under "Help" was a good idea? 😠 It obviously belongs in the complaints and venting section. 🙂 😬
