alexxx said:Yeah, that was me—I’ve been carrying a sniper rifle since I was five. Just like your son, I spent my childhood taking out the bad guys—those awful Americans who didn't support a Greater Mexico!
For the ones I didn't kill, I threatened them until they relocated themselves... I even wore necklaces made of eyeballs. ALL SINCE AGE FIVE!!!

Idiots.

Nice post.
Just don't get worked up—what's the point? What will people think when the war ends and he expects some medal from Bush, only to be fired because his boss—who’s apparently a bigger patriot than him despite never seeing a day of combat—decides his "service" isn't worth keeping on the payroll?
So what’s left? Sitting around watching a football game with his son, lecturing a kid who still lives in a Snow White fairy tale about the war.
Pathos is never enough, I suppose.
Zagorakis said:I was watching the Argentina vs Yankees game yesterday when my five-year-old joined me. He isn't really into soccer yet—though I wish he were, considering I played semi-pro ball back in the day—but he asks if "our guys" are playing.

The flag looked enough like ours that he got confused.

How am I supposed to explain that they aren't just "not us," but actually our number one enemies? That they were the ones shooting at us, killing, displacing, and raping...

How?

Just let the kid grow up in a normal environment and maybe—just maybe—the war will finally stop living in your head.
How are you going to explain to him that the world champions are basically the descendants of the Italians who invaded and occupied us in 1941?
It’s honestly more pathetic than funny when people compare soccer to war—especially since the Yankees were even playing.
Seriously, telling your son "those are the people who shot at Daddy"... god, the melodrama is unreal.
This thread was likely created just so us Americans—arguably the most civilized people on Earth, let's be honest—can vent our utter disdain for certain uncivilized groups from abroad who visit our beautiful coasts only to litter, engage in public indecency, or spit on the streets. We, as Americans, moved past those kinds of deviant behaviors a long time ago.
Just imagine—purely hypothetically, of course—one of our own tourists from a place like Chicago or Phoenix tossing trash on the street, leaving watermelon rinds all over the beach, or heaven forbid, urinating in the Atlantic Ocean...
It’s a ridiculous thought, really, but one should assume that if someone belongs to the American nation, they are naturally immune to such deviations (unless proven otherwise). However, when dealing with certain other groups, one tends to start from a completely different premise.
Just picture someone like Elon Musk or a certain author from the Middle East vacationing on the Atlantic coast.
Good grief.

Established by Euroherc... excuse me, Judas Iscariot. And he put it in security. 😵

You probably tried to be funny—though it really just ended up being a pathetic attempt....
if Islamists and Mexicans are the same thing to you, then, buddy, you have some serious issues with your intelligence—not to mention failing preschool, elementary school, etc.
