I just joined a political party in Close to Politics ·
So, we have a meeting with the leadership coming up soon. Honestly, I’m feeling completely drained by the whole thing. They probably have certain expectations of me, and frankly, I’m second-guessing everything. This is a party that genuinely wants to improve life for everyone in the States, but my initial rush of euphoria has totally evaporated, leaving me feeling awkward. We’re trying to build something new—something untainted by the kind of corruption I absolutely loathe. It’s a struggle because, at my core, I’m just a modest person and a true altruist; I’d do anything for a good cause, even if it meant facing jail time. But now? Now I’m worried they might actually reject me because of those very traits. I truly believe in this group, though. I see that they genuinely want to fight the good fight. It’s just that I deal with so much internal insecurity in general, let alone with matters like this. What am I supposed to do?
