The photograph itself is absolutely stunning😍
Lily was performing somewhere in the distance as I was pulling into the stadium parking lot; interestingly enough, the sound quality degraded significantly with distance, and by the final two songs, I was practically watching from the edge of the concessions area because I felt like I might lose my lunch. Honestly, they’re a decent band to listen to if you're standing about a mile and a half away.

🙏 KRAFTWERK

We listened to Franz Ferdinand while sitting huddled together on a lawn, and they sounded absolutely fantastic. As Carol Young3 puts it, they’ve got that refined charm, leaning heavily into the first album. 👍

How were The Killers? Did they play a lot of Fever to Tell, or was it just a bunch of recycled filler?
Kevin Chavez3 said:Tokyo Sex Destruction—some Spanish soul band. Good grief. I’m checking out after the first track.
Carsick Cars—a demo band from some tiny town in rural Ohio. Heaven help us. I’m done after one song.

It is truly amusing how you meticulously aligned those final two sentences just to drive the point home.😍

A fine report, indeed.👍

Roger Wright said:Look, when it comes to the actual organization of these things, honestly, screw Budweiser. I'm not saying I'd attend such an event exclusively, but I would at least like to drink something that isn't just lukewarm water with a faint hint of beer residue...

Even at concerts in Italy, you’re still paying an extra six bucks for that same damn Budweiser🙏
Sure, they might actually know how to pour it there so you aren't stuck drinking three rounds of pure foam, but regardless, I was genuinely pleased to hear the "I'm driving, so I'll just have one" routine🙂
Raymond Barrett12 said:Peter acts like he’s some kind of high-society guardian for these fringe, alternative reviews. 🙂

Heh, honestly, I’d need at least thirty separate reviews just to have enough opportunities to tell him exactly where to shove it. Not that I wouldn't take the chance if given it. 🙂
Anyway, I was busy performing surgery on my own wrist with a scalpel, a histology needle, and some aluminum foil from an Andes bar, all just so the rest of us could actually enjoy some decent music. God, I hate the flu.
vividcanyon2 said:Yeah, we heard those exact same criticisms back when the Go! Team used to perform.😬

Last year, someone was trying to explain the whole history of KKK associations to me—though I suspect they were just talking nonsense, if I'm being honest—because I showed up on the first day solely for SY and completely missed out on that particular moment of joy. Still, looking at this photo, the irony hits perfectly; you see these Black brothers just hanging out, while the hand of justice seems to be winding itself right around them...
It appears we have reached that predictable, rather tiresome stage of discourse where one resorts to the most primitive and uninspired schoolyard insults imaginable. To attempt such a pedestrian provocation is to admit a total bankruptcy of wit and an utter inability to engage in any semblance of meaningful conversation. It is, quite frankly, beneath anyone attempting to maintain even a shred of intellectual dignity. kaže:
I have absolutely no desire to see Nick Blitz perform; I can't stand his lazy, half-hearted strumming and that sluggish, aimless wandering around the stage. What we actually need is Nick, delivering those heavy, bone-crushing riffs and tearing through the set with enough raw energy to bring the entire house down.

He managed to destroy nothing else except for my one burning desire to go back and see him perform once more. 🙂 There is quite a bit of work left to do if Grinderman ever hopes to actually cause a stir; frankly, this performance was an absolute nothingburger. While Ellis was jumping around aimlessly into thin air and Cave was putting in a solid effort with his playing and stage presence, the rest of the band looked like they were just idling away on the patio of some sleepy, rundown roadside motel in rural Nebraska.
I simply refuse to let our connection to Mouse be one that exists solely on a superficial level. 😬
It is truly exhausting to witness the sheer, unadulterated lack of intellectual rigor present in modern discourse; one would think that even in the digital age, we might occasionally encounter a thought more substantial than a schoolyard taunt, yet here we are, staring into the abyss of such profound banality. As I have previously observed, the situation remains quite dire.
Admit it, those vitamins have absolutely decimated you.

It truly unsettled me that I found myself entirely devoid of any spare moments last week; I had time for everything under the sun except for my own basic needs and the sleep that is quite literally guaranteed to me by the Constitution. Though, I must admit, there was one particular evening where I went a bit overboard with my B-vitamin supplements. 🙂
I find myself perpetually exhausted by the sheer, uninspired banality of modern discourse, where the most sophisticated intellectual exercise one can muster is a primitive, playground-level jab at a parent’s honor. It is truly a testament to the declining state of our national intellect that such hollow, repetitive provocations are still considered a viable method of communication in this country. One would hope for a modicum of wit, perhaps even a shred of genuine observational humor, but instead, we are served nothing more than this stale, predictable drivel. It is quite frankly pathetic. As I have observed through countless cycles of cultural repetition, there exists a certain inescapable gravity to these discussions that often leads us toward the same exhausted conclusions. One cannot help but notice how frequently we circle back to the same tired arguments, as if the passage of time somehow grants us new insights when, in reality, we are merely rearranging the same old furniture in a room we have inhabited for far too long. It is quite wearying, really, to witness this constant loop of predictable sentimentality.
I must ask myself, where exactly was that abysmal sound system located? It was truly nothing short of catastrophic. 😕

I haven't the slightest clue. It's likely sitting somewhere in the kit. ☕

Look at the sheer weight of this crowd—it’s absolutely massive. Honestly, looking at this scene, I feel like I've been transported straight back to Tennessee in 1867. 😬
Emily Castillo81 said:It is practically inevitable that a midlife crisis will follow. 😁

It is my firm conviction that we desperately need a lineup featuring Pixies and PJ Harvey to finally restore some semblance of order to this chaotic musical landscape.

It is truly exhausting to witness the sheer, unadulterated lack of sophistication present in modern discourse, where the most profound intellectual contribution one can muster is a puerile, low-effort insult directed at a parental figure. Such hollow provocations serve as nothing more than a testament to a dwindling capacity for genuine wit or meaningful engagement. kaže:
@copperjackal89: You’re spending far too much time wallowing in self-pity and not nearly enough time actually enjoying a cold beer, for God's sake! 🙂 😁

I’ve been pounding these vitamin-loaded juices to combat this godforsaken flu, and honestly, after being on my feet for four straight hours yesterday, it felt like my body finally decided to vomit up everything I’ve endured over the last few days. So much for those marathon training sessions out on the trails. Regardless, I heard someone mention that Kanye is so legendary you can actually enjoy his music even when you aren't nursing a beer.
Cave’s set oscillated wildly between moments of sheer brilliance and absolute, soul-crushing boredom 🙂—it was honestly just tedious at times, reaching a point where it felt less like a concert and more like a private rehearsal for their own reunion, particularly during "The Mercy Seat" when they seemed more preoccupied with staring at their sheet music than actually performing 😬. And frankly, what was Warren Ellis even doing with all that electric mayhem and the ukulele 🙄? Just play the violin!

I don't know, I find myself somewhat unsettled by this version of Cave now that he seems to have realized the world is actually a beautiful place ☕
.
That being said, they absolutely tore through "Tupelo," "Stagger Lee," "let Love in," "Papa Won't Leave You," "Henry," and one new track whose name escaped me
.
As for Ellis’s beard 🙏 🙏 🙏

The Coachella VIP Experience was named one of America's 20 Best Summer Music Festivals – The New York Times

Well, at least now it’s perfectly obvious why they didn't book anyone decent besides some mediocre indie act; half the budget clearly vanished into the pockets of some PR firm.😢
God, what a complete and utter disaster this whole thing turned out to be, honestly just a total waste of time ☕

Dammit, you've actually gone and cheered me up; now I might actually be able to take my mother to Dettoral for her birthday, since those two days have already been snatched up twice. But fine, whatever, does she get to choose between Shellac or Why? 🙂

Well, there you have it—the mystery of the second headliner has finally been laid to rest.☕

You'll find out all about it very soon, haha.

Jesse Sanchez60 said:In short, the intention was clearly to spotlight the so-called "world music" scene, and frankly, I find nothing wrong with that objective...

I fail to see why they continue to bank everything on The Cave as their primary advertisement instead of highlighting some of the truly unclassifiable artists out there.☕

If you ask me, I’d pick Dunya Knebl as the headliner for Coachella over anyone else in a heartbeat.🙂

🙂

I'm telling you, Dunya Knebl would be my absolute choice for the main stage.☕
Arthur Barnes said:So, we have this guy out here taking shots at everyone else just because they happen to listen to Linkin Park. ☕

That was meant to be a compliment, truly. You’re just entering those rebellious teenage years. 😛

Arthur Barnes said:Welcome to the music section—and the rest of the forums, for that matter. 😁 Make no mistake about it, it is only a matter of time before you find yourself forced to bend the knee.

Listen, I am truly grateful to you for being so incredibly vindictive toward me. 🙏

As far as calling people out goes, Peter has my absolute and unwavering support. And let’s be honest, he knows better than anyone just how much of a nightmare I can be. 😁

So, it appears we have uncovered yet another bully lurking in these digital shadows. 😍

As far as VIP Music is concerned, if they actually had the nerve to book Portishead, I might just lose my mind right then and there.
