And honestly, why ask a forum for these details instead of calling the bank's help desk? You risk getting incorrect information here that could end up costing you a 4.5% surcharge on your balance.

To looks like nothing more than basic validation functions to check user input—stuff like making sure the format is right, enough digits are entered, or the SSN is valid... Once that’s checked on the client side, it just gets sent over to the server for processing. It doesn't actually have anything to do with data security.

After spending two years trying to shove a Visa down everyone's throats, they probably realized they need to scale back and at least try swapping out those payroll packages...

I bet the next move is some big promo like "switch from Package 1 to Visa for free for the first 6 months."🙂

Of course they don't. The premium assistant doesn't offer any discounts on the Mastercard membership fee, even though the Gold package is half off. I didn't bother checking the rest of the fine print...

She actually asked me why I was hesitant to sign the "new" contract. I told her straight up that I wasn't buying the whole "it's just a name change" excuse. Turns out, once I got home and checked their website, my gut feeling was spot on.

So, I went into my local Chase branch today and—surprise, surprise—they didn't offer me a Visa instead of that all-in-one bundle. Instead, they told me they’re rebranding the Optimum package to some "modern payment assistant" nonsense and that I need to sign a whole new contract just to change the name... 🙂
