I find myself in complete agreement with Andrew Hernandez regarding her perspectives on tolerance and the nature of anger.

Quote:
"To endure insults calmly, to refuse to react to aggression or hatred, and to live without the paralyzing fear of death—these are merely different facets of tolerance.

In the slow process of building a functional personality amidst life's chaotic variables, tolerance becomes an essential tool.

It serves as one method for confronting outward aggression.

The other approach is to simply categorize those aggressors as either children or the mentally ill (and after all, can one truly hold a grudge against someone in that state?)

When we feel anger toward someone, it is really just a sign that we are expecting them to be something they simply aren't..."

Truly profound thoughts. Though, if I'm being honest, putting them into practice is a much steeper climb than it sounds.

Love and hate are essentially two sides of the same coin, mostly because they both strike at the core of who we are—they are incredibly intense, deeply personal emotions that consume you from the inside out. That’s really all there is to it.
There is certainly a razor-thin line separating pure hatred from the finality of death—absolutely.
Though, I wouldn't go so far as to say that line doesn't exist at all; it's there, just incredibly fragile.
But let's move on.

At some point, a person has to realize that all this energy spent worrying, harboring resentment, or passing judgment is ultimately a wasted effort; it does nothing for the world and only serves to shorten your own life. The sooner you grasp that truth and actually manage to live by it, the better off you'll be.
We all deal with these feelings at one point or another as we navigate through life. You just have to pray to God that you possess enough willpower and common sense to overcome them. And that you finally learn how to stop caring so much.
