Any little delights from Small town, USA? How are their pastries? (They don't seem to respond to inquiries, as far as I can tell)...

hey there!
Not sure if you've heard of SWEET DREAMS FROM CHARLESTON, they did the catering for my cousin's wedding and man, let me tell ya, they are awesome. You can find them on Facebook, here's the link

I know they stay pretty busy, but definitely give 'em a shot. They make those legit, homemade-style cakes and pies, plus they aren't too pricey and the lady running it is super sweet. Hope that helps you out a bit!🙂

Prices vary all over the place, like from $5 up to $2.75, I know at a bakery in Indianapolis $2.75 they're about a certain amount, but then at a sweet shop in Chicago $1.75 they go for a different price—usually they just sell them by the piece, but if you want to buy them by the pound, just ask if they'll do that!!—hope that helps a little!

Has anyone here actually ordered sweets from the Local fairy tale Beli Manastir? I’ve heard some pretty great things about them, so I wanted to see if anyone could give me a real opinion. Apparently, they do macarons, pralines, and mignontes too, so I was thinking about mixing those in with the more traditional dessert spread. Does anyone have any actual experience working with them?

We actually used their cakes and pastries for our wedding and honestly, everything was delicious and just super high quality. But as far as the macarons, pralines, or mignons go, I'm not really sure... we just stuck to the classic dessert table.

One thing I know for sure—I am absolutely not cutting corners on the music. On the flip side, there is zero chance I’m dropping $80 or $100 just on a bouquet. I'll just order the flowers myself and DIY the whole thing. Honestly, a friend and I handled the decor for two weddings we did for acquaintances, and everything turned out great, so I think I can pull it off...🙂)

Here's their link on Facebook so you can just hit them up and ask, since prices change all the time depending on what you're looking for

Hey everyone, figured I’d jump in and help out a little too! My sister got married last year,
here are some shots. For the photography—we used a local pro studio in the Midwest—and honestly, the pictures turned out amazing
The venue was at the Grand Hyatt—such a gorgeous ballroom, seriously top-notch
For sweets, we went with Sweet Dreams Bakery—their cakes and pastries were incredible and didn't break the bank either
As for the music, the band was awesome
Anyway, hope this helps someone out there!

So, my wedding is happening this summer—had to push it back a year, which was a total headache—so now I’m diving headfirst into all the planning.
I need the works: venues, bands, photographers, hair, makeup... even a suit (seriously, where can I find a good one around here?). Oh, and don't forget invitations, boutonnieres, flowers, and dessert!

I'm based out of Indianapolis, but honestly, I'm down to travel a bit if it means finding the perfect stuff. 😉

Seriously though, any and all advice is welcome! 🙂🤣

You should check this out, they have some really cute stuff... might give you some ideas!

Angela Chavez3 said:Haha, I guess I’d be skeptical about the price too, but we’ve ordered from them about ten times now and everyone who tries them says they're great.🙂 I can't really speak for the cakes, though, since I haven't tried those myself.

tbh it feels kind of weird to me because for $13 you seriously can't find a single better dessert anywhere else...!!

Karen Johnson49 said:Hey, can someone give me a heads-up on how many pounds of dessert I actually need to grab for a dessert buffet if I'm hosting about 90 people?

So, I heard from someone once that you basically aim for like 5 little treats per person... so if you take those 90 folks and divide by 5, that'll give you a rough idea of how much weight you're looking at!!

Jesse Bennett3 said:I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction—does anyone know where I might find the most affordable place to order dessert platters for a wedding around the Midwest area?

Wait, what’s actually considered "cheap" for you though????? Like, what kind of budget are we talking about??

Hey, can someone let me know if there are any shops in Indianapolis that carry cookie decorations? Like, I need this ASAP...
Starting an LLC: Where to begin? in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
So, I’ve been thinking about finally pulling the trigger and starting my own bakery business... maybe like a boutique cookie shop or something? But man, I am totally lost on how to actually get the ball rolling. Since I don't have a specific trade license or anything, I know I'll need to set up an LLC, but then what? Everything I read online talks about needing these massive business plans and formal projects, and honestly, my brain just freezes up. Like, who even writes these things? Who do I even talk to about getting one done? And ugh, the money part... does anyone have a clue what the startup costs look like? Also, what kind of gear would I actually need to get moving? Just the basics, you know? And here's a big one—can I hunt down some decent used equipment from a liquidating restaurant or something, or is everything strictly required to be brand new? Help a girl out!
