Well, fair enough then... I’ll admit, that whole area is a bit outside my wheelhouse:-)) Anyway, thanks so much for the assist, Peter Reed59!

Just so we're clear, Microsoft is a debit card (just like Maestro). 🙂
Thanks so much! :-) And I actually managed to find that info on the Chase website too, haha.
But wait, Maestro isn't always strictly debit... I work at a jewelry boutique, and we handle installment payments on Maestro all the time without any issues.
Hey there!
I was wondering about something else if anyone happens to know... though if not, I guess I'll just have to head down to Chase and ask myself:-/
So, here’s the situation: about a week ago, I received my Visa debit card in the mail. I’ve had this checking account open since high school, but honestly, I barely touch it—it's really just where my paycheck lands. What I'm curious about is whether I can use this specific card to buy things on an installment plan or maybe pick up something now and pay for it next month, regardless of whether I actually have the cash sitting in the account right now? Basically, I'm trying to figure out if this functions anything like a credit card or if it's strictly tied to what's in my balance.
