Best external hard drives to buy right now? in Computer Peripherals ·
So I'm thinking about picking up an external hard drive Seagate Portable External Hard Drive (the 2.5-inch, 500GB, USB 3.0 kind),$127
-but I was browsing online and saw this in the specs:
Western Digital External Drive: USB 3.0
Interfaces: USB 3.0
Cable Included: USB 3.0 micro-B Cable

And now I've got this nagging question stuck in my head... since the description says it comes with a USB 3.0 cable, but my laptop is pretty old school and only has those USB 2.0 ports, I'm wondering if I can even plug this thing in and actually use it? Like, if it works, how does that even happen... or am I just wasting my money here?
Is this drive strictly meant for laptops that have USB 3.0 slots, or can I make it work on mine?

Can someone please give me an answer here?
It’s actually pretty important to me...

Alright, so this was more of a "what if" kind of question to begin with, but hey...
let's say we're talking about splitting something into 5 monthly payments

but what I'm actually curious about—purely hypothetically, obviously
is whether a bank would even look at me for a credit card if I'm just on a fixed-term contract,
and if they would, what kind of hoops would I have to jump through?

So, why would it be such a struggle to get her?
Is it because I'm just on some temporary contract or something?

So, I’m looking to pick up a new PC on a payment plan... maybe like 12 to 24 months through Best Buy.
The thing is, I’ve never actually owned a credit card before.
Starting next year, I’ll be kicking off a job with a company on a one-year contract.
What I’m wondering is, once I start working there, can I actually ask them to set me up with a credit card through the company...
or is that something reserved strictly for people with permanent, full-time positions?
If I am eligible for a card, can I just grab it immediately, or do I have to wait until my first paycheck actually hits my bank account or whatever the deal is with that...?
And where do I even go within a company to request a card—like, which department or office handles that, and how long does the whole process usually take?
I’m expecting my pay to be around $1667... so I guess I’m curious about how they decide my credit limit and how much I'm actually allowed to spend.
Look, I’m a total newbie when it comes to this stuff, so please, don't tear me apart here on the forum...
