I've been running into a massive headache trying to get Windows 7 installed on this Lenovo G710 I picked up recently... It seems like there's some kind of Legacy and UEFI situation going on—it just won't give me that classic option where I can set the DVD as the primary boot device during a restart to kick off the installation. Has anyone run into this before? I feel like I've scoured every corner of the internet, from random forums to everything on YouTube, but I'm still stuck... I've even tried booting from a USB drive, but nothing happens—the system doesn't even recognize the drive at all...

Urgent question here—I was told that a transfer was made from a Chase account to my Bank of America card this past Saturday, but the funds still haven't shown up in my balance today... does anyone know how many business days it usually takes for money to actually hit the account?

So, I just finished installing Windows 7 and now I've got this 30-day countdown timer telling me I need to Activate... honestly, what should I do to get rid of that annoying prompt? I completely lost track of what I was doing earlier >D

I’ve got a bit of a mystery on my hands—I'm running Windows 7, and until very recently, I had at least half my C drive free... we're talking about 20 GB out of 40 GB available. Now, suddenly, I'm looking at maybe 2 or 3 GB left, and I have no idea where it all went! I actually went through the C drive and checked the individual folders, but they don't even add up to 5 GB total, so nothing makes sense to me. Just to be clear, I install all my games on the D drive and keep my movies over there too, so the C drive should really just be holding BSPlayer, Skype, and a few other tiny little programs. I honestly can't wrap my head around how the space vanished like this...
Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this? Because once those "low disk space" warnings start popping up again, I am seriously going to lose my mind 😁

Or
Hit the Start menu, type dxdiag into the search bar, and if you check under the Display tab, you'll see all the specifics about your graphics card...
Alternatively
you could just download Speccy and use that to take a look.
Just pick whichever method feels easiest for you!😬

I actually have one more question... 😁 I just finished installing Windows 7, and when I checked the system settings, it says I have 28 days left to activate—so I was wondering, what exactly happens once those 28 days are up?

Just switch it over to High Performance, then head into "Change plan settings" where you should see options for Sleep mode or Hibernation—whatever works best for you. Hopefully, that gets you sorted! 🙂
thanks 👍

Hey everyone, could someone point me in the right direction? I'm trying to figure out where in Windows 7 I can change the settings so my computer stops shutting itself down after a little while... basically, it seems to go into sleep mode after about 30 to 60 minutes, and then the whole thing just powers down—though it does wake back up once I move the mouse again. Does anyone know where I can toggle that off??

Can anyone tell me how much RAM Windows 7 usually eats up once it's up and running? I'm seeing about 950MB used out of my 2GB total—it feels like a bit much, doesn't it?

So, here’s my situation—I’m running Windows 7, and lately, almost every single time I shut down my computer, it starts running some kind of update... it's getting pretty annoying, to be honest, and it's starting to get on my nerves a bit. I was wondering if there's any way to actually turn this stuff off, or is it just something the system is forced to do automatically whenever it feels like downloading things??

Douglas Garcia52 said:First, go ahead and type Windows update into your search bar—then just click on that result. Once you're in there, you'll see an option on the left-hand side labeled "Change settings" (go ahead and click that)... from there, you can just select "Never check for updates" to get it sorted... 🙂
I’m assuming we’re dealing with some pirated versions of Windows here—if that's the case, honestly, the best move is just to handle it this way... once you do, it should stop giving you all that trouble... 👍
Thanks! 🙏 I mean, I don't think anything major should break if I just switch this off... I honestly have no clue what exactly is being installed right now anyway—it’s all a bit of a mystery to me... 😁

Honestly, just let it finish the installation—if you're already sure we're talking about updates here—and then once it's done, just go ahead and disable Automatic Updates...
At first, everything seemed fine and it would only pop up occasionally, but now it’s like this loop—it tries to install those five specific items every single time. I let it run through the whole process, but then when I shut the computer down and turn it back on the next day, it's right back at the start trying to install them all over again.😁
