I mean, how much are we really looking at hitting $1,200? I’m also a bit hung up on response times—people keep claiming that 2ms is the gold standard for gaming, yet most of the monitors you guys suggest in this price bracket seem to sit right around 5ms. It feels a bit off. And regarding LEDs... honestly, it seems kind of illogical that it would be an issue when there's such a massive amount of advertising, from TVs to everything else, constantly shoved in our faces.

We finally pulled the trigger on a new PC this summer (thanks for all the pointers, by the way), so now we’re staring down the barrel of picking out monitors.
I’m trying to figure out which direction to go for a 22-inch setup—is LCD still the move, or should I be looking at LED? Most of the usage is just the kids gaming and watching movies. I’ve had a few people tell me to steer clear of LED because they heard it might be hard on the eyes, so I guess I’m wondering if anyone here actually knows anything about that. Also, for what we need—mostly gaming and films—do I really need to hunt down an HDMI connection, or would a standard DVI port suffice? Thanks in advance.

So, here I am—currently navigating the chaos of an adolescent (13), dealing with the pre-adolescent phase (10), and trying to manage a tiny baby, all while keeping my sanity intact every single day. It’s manageable enough right now since it's summer, I guess, but once school starts back up... I honestly have no idea how I'm going to pull it off.
