Anthony Wright30 said:As for my own take, I don't really have an issue with Jordan; in fact, I think it's quite a positive trait that he didn't back the Black candidate during the elections, which seems to be what the libtards are complaining about. He’s a relentless fanatic, and I’ve always known that, which is something I don't particularly mind.

Scottie Pippen, on the other hand, really gets under my skin because it feels like everything he did was purely about the money, even though he was the one who agreed to those contract terms in the first place. Then, he turns around and lashes out at his boss, acting as if he hadn't been brought into the fold himself, or as if he were somehow coerced into signing that deal. Personally, I wouldn't want to offer him a new contract if he's going to act that foolishly.

Look, money was the main story with Jordan too. Man, at the UN medal ceremony, the guy literally covers the Reebok logo with an American flag just because he's the Nike poster boy.🤣

I've got nothing against him being competitive and focused on winning, but his attitude—the constant whining, acting like he's everyone's boss, and bullying his teammates during practice—just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
The guy acts like some local mob boss sitting in his office while teammates come in asking for favors for their families or friends, and he just pulls something out of his drawer and mocks them.🤣

Some guy is asking the head of the CDC if masks aren't mandatory on public transit like they are in Spain, Italy, Germany, and all those other places just because we can't get enough supplies.

CDC: No, it's just because that's what we decided.🤣

For me, it totally ruined my perception of Jordan, and especially Scottie Pippen.

Edit: And I'm not talking about how they treated Toni Kukoč—I mean just generally.

What did he say? I missed the press conference

Let's just hope the warmer weather actually helps slow down the virus. Honestly, though, it’s a whole lot easier to track down the source of 200 or 300 new cases than it is when you're staring down 2,000 or 3,000.

Look at our local numbers—they've dropped from 100 down to 10, and we're getting consistent daily updates on exactly who caught what and how. Today, we had 4 people test positive after crossing the border coming back from Germany. On top of that, 3 others tested positive while in quarantine; they've been stuck there for about 10 days because they were in contact with someone who got sick back in Miami (a caregiver at a nursing home).

How much sense do these quarantine measures actually make, like what they're doing in Italy? Can someone please try to explain the logic to me? If the entire country is basically under house arrest, how on earth are they still seeing thousands of new cases every single day? How is it even spreading if the only people out and about are those who absolutely have to be? Sure, their daily numbers dropped from 3,000–4,000 down to somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500, but I still don't get it. If everyone is stuck at home, how does the transmission keep happening?

I can't get that old joke by Markoticke out of my head—the one where people in medical circles jokingly call COVID a "family" virus because most of the transmission happens within close-knit family circles.

The whole situation has hit countries way less hard if they reacted early and stopped that initial massive spike. Now, they can pretty much start winding things down without any hesitation because the pool of infection has shrunk and we aren't looking at a massive surge. It makes zero sense to keep a country like Germany under lockdown when they’re only seeing maybe 300 or 400 cases across 80 million people.

Matthew Young35 said:Are you planning to just ignore Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the USA? In those places, the consequences of the virus were quite wild despite extremely drastic measures. Why are you so certain that an apocalyptic scenario wouldn't occur without isolation?
Look at the USA and the UK—they decided to ignore the epidemic, and once things took a sudden turn, they quickly changed their minds.

Of course I trusted the experts over my own gut feeling.
Dealing with viruses isn't exactly my life's work; I just have a general idea of what they actually are.
I know plenty of instances where intuition leads a person completely astray. To start with, look at optical illusions.

The massive lockdowns came way too late, man. Way too late. Americans just proved what everyone already knew: they are hands down the biggest idiots on the planet.

They were the last ones to react. They spent a whole month watching it tear through Europe, and they still missed the window to take action and blunt that initial blow.

There are actually more Splitters in Washington, D.C. than there are in Miami, and the same goes for the Duke crowd.

Jacob Kern2 said:The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has released its updated health and safety protocols for upcoming tournaments, pending approval from national governments. Under these new guidelines, organizers will be required to provide individual sets of tennis balls for every player, along with latex gloves and face masks for ball kids, while also implementing a rule where players switch sides by walking around the net in the opposite direction to maintain distance.

🤦 🙏

No, I simply cannot agree; this is certainly not some instance of collective brainwashing.

So they want people wearing masks? Especially since those ball kids are basically tossing balls right in front of people's mouths...

The numbers are never going to go down because there’s always going to be someone complaining about why they have to fill out some extra paperwork now, 31 miles when they used to have everything handed to them on a silver platter.

Matthew Young35 said:Everyone claims to be against cronyism and wants to trim down the bloated administrative overhead, yet the moment you suggest consolidating a single town or county, you’re met with a full-blown populist revolt from the locals.
Good grief, the US has thousands of municipalities, while Germany has around 79 and the United Kingdom has 69. We certainly aren't being efficient here at 3PM.

The people at the start of that sentence would be absolutely losing their minds.

The government isn't offering any kind of incentive to actually pay this in?

Do you think Grubnic, Severina, and the rest of that crew are actually going to pull this off?

Who’s doing a better job spreading Corona, the Nazis or the partisans?

Who’s actually the aggressor here, and who’s the one being threatened?

I just sat down and watched this again after a long time... these guys are the real deal. They aren't some manufactured, soft-hearted posers like Jordan.

Anthony Wright30 said:I suppose Scottie Pippen was a bit much for me to process during those first four installments.

Look, he’s got a point there, but he really didn't need to throw Toni Kukoč and the rest of the teammates under the bus.

Nobody forced him to sign that long-term deal. If I remember correctly, the guy signed for six years at 2.7 million, and back then, the league was absolutely flooded with cash, so he wasn't even in the top 100 highest earners.

Maybe if he hadn't acted like such a jerk, Kraus would have given him the chance to negotiate a new deal. But hey, knowing him, he probably would've been just as stubborn regardless.

Thank God for that.

Well, at least they’ve finally stepped up their game with the testing lately. Over the last two weeks, they’ve massively ramped up capacity. Now, they’re running about 1,500 to 2,000 tests daily across the country. That brings us to 37,000 total so far.

Paul Sanders5 said:Nobody on this planet has even come close to hitting their capacity limits. New York, which they love to call the epicenter of the outbreak, basically sent us a floating hospital ship because they had no use for it. So, what does that actually mean? It means we aren't just talking about some random virus anymore—we're looking at the situation in Italy and Bergamo.

I’ve been keeping an eye on that COVID tracking site, and for about ten days now, the number of active cases has been stuck right around 1.9 or 2 million. Meanwhile, the recovery numbers are climbing steadily. That means most countries have either slowed things down or actually turned the tide.

America is completely screwing the whole thing up; over there, things aren't calming down at all. It looks like the situation is massively improving in the countries that actually decided to relax their restrictions.
