Look, man, when you're dealing with this kind of stuff, that whole priest thing is just totally trivial. ☕

Elaborate on what you mean by saying I'll "see the imaginary soon," then.

You got all worked up about being insulted, so why are you coming at me now? Why aren't you taking the high road?🤷

wiredrider9 said:Your arguments are straight-up garbage—just pure hate and mockery at this point. Look, you obviously can't host a massive party on a 5,000-square-foot floor plan where you've got 15 people wandering around, sitting, and standing everywhere. Only someone with zero common sense would think that works—but hey, I guess you’re clearly bursting with all that "genius" energy, right? Just constant insults and ridicule... honestly, this kind of trash shouldn't even be allowed on the platform. But sure, go ahead, call it "freedom of speech" if it makes you feel better.

Just try editing some guy's photo and you'll see what happens soon enough.

Are you seriously trying to wish death upon me with that bolded comment?

wiredrider9 said:Look, the rules *did* work for the idiots—because let’s be real, you've got hundreds, maybe even thousands of low-IQ morons drifting through that parade they've been running for centuries anyway.

wiredrider9 said:The odds of a virus spreading because hospitals and nursing homes don't have basic gear—masks, gloves, you name it (and trust me, we saw how much of a disaster that was in those facilities)—are a thousand times higher than some priest and a handful of people holding mass. Clowns should be tackling the actual problems instead of this nonsense; a little less being stuck in the past wouldn't hurt.

You know how they say it: talk about a pig, and you'll hear nothing but squealing. 🕺

Amy Nelson4 said:Actually, the rules *do* apply to them—that’s exactly why they went through the trouble of asking for permission in the first place. And, well, they got it. This whole procession has been going on for five centuries now, and it’s actually on the UNESCO list for intangible heritage. I'm guessing that's the main reason their request was greenlit. 😉

Oh, I see. So because something has been happening for 500 years and involves religion, they just get to bypass the laws that everyone else in the country has to follow?

I mean, every single small town in America has some ancient tradition or religious parade. If we follow that logic, anyone could walk up today and ask why *their* specific group got a special pass while everyone else stays stuck with the standard rules.

Come on, you Catholics, go ahead and play the victim—it’s what you guys do best.

Amy Nelson4 said:There were maybe fifteen people in the procession at most—barely a crowd, really. Everyone was playing by the rules, too—masks, gloves, keeping that social distance everyone’s been talking about. Even the local police were there keeping an eye on things, just like they do every single year. So... I have to ask, where exactly is the problem?

So why doesn't the rulebook apply to them?

wiredrider9 said:Seriously, if they're enforcing this, why are Walmarts still open? Why were there a hundred times more people out during the Fourth of July weekend, yet that didn't make the news for days? Come on, man. If this were some guy keeping a dive bar open with a couple of buddies, nobody would care. But because it’s a priest and a church? Oh, let's goooooooo!

Why are the shops still running? Because for a regular person, grabbing something to eat is way more important than staring at a crisis and praying to some imaginary figure born from one foolish woman's excuse to her husband, which somehow turned into an entire religion.

Maybe it’s also because you have to sanitize your hands at the entrance of most Walmarts and they only let small groups in, whereas every single Dar, Mary, and Lucy who thinks fighting a virus with garlic and moonshine is a valid strategy would swarm right into a church. You'd end up with a bunch of low-IQ idiots packed into a tight space, creating a total hotspot.

darkseal9 said:Man, do you even go to the grocery store?

I hit up Walmart once a week. Bring a camera if you want to film me—I'll give you a little wave.

Just don't get too close, or I might have to throw a punch. Then you can go crying about it on the forums if you feel like it.

The priest is totally freaking out because things have been slow for a few weeks, so he’s calling everyone to mass just to scrape together some cash for a steak dinner and a nice bottle of wine.
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
All they really needed to do was snap some decent photos from the outside, let the local authorities know there was a mass going on, and then just put out a public notice about where and when it happened. Everything else is just pure clickbait.

restlesssurfer97 said:But honestly, I watched the footage myself and the church was totally empty, and I wasn't even reading praise on the news sites, it was actually the complete opposite, just constant reports about scandals and journalists being harassed🤷

The place wasn't full, and it wasn't empty. Either way, if there's a ban on gatherings, people should just follow it. Honestly, both the folks in the church and those idiots over at Yahoo are being just as clueless here. You've got reporters trying to force a confrontation just to manufacture drama and chase clicks. It’s ridiculous. There was no reason to be blocking things up with a car; he could have just filmed from the sidewalk in a public area. He didn't need to sit in his car waving his arms around—he could've just rolled down the window and parked nearby.

As for stepping inside the church? Yeah, no. You can't just wander into a private building when it isn't a public space.

I just caught a video from the church 🤣

Is she really hurt that bad? Since we're talking about Yahoo, Babic is probably going to drop a column about the link tomorrow.

Look, I honestly don't mind being on camera at all. Every single day, hundreds of people end up on the news just by pure coincidence because someone is out there filming a segment or doing an interview and bystanders get caught in the frame.

The real issue here is that those religious extremists held their mass despite all the gathering bans. They clearly didn't want the whole country to witness their disgrace🤷. If it had been a normal Easter Sunday and reporters had shown up to grab quotes, that exact same guy would have happily stepped right up to the camera to talk all about Easter🤷

So what’s even the issue here? They were filming right on the street and they followed every single law to a T.

From what I can tell, that footage was shot on some gravel backroad, or is this guy seriously just driving his car through a church parking lot?

Paul Martinez73 said:You guys sure have plenty of arguments today 🤣

They're filming your every move, so why wouldn't they film on private property too? And then on the flip side, it's all "I don't want the President following meeeee, ahhh Boone won't let me live!" 🤣

Just pick a side and decide what you actually stand for—is it okay to film everything everywhere, or isn't it? Is it okay to follow people everywhere, or isn't it? Are you for freedom of movement and gathering, or aren't you?

You're struggling so hard 🤣 but honestly, what else can you expect from a bunch of Democrats ☕

Look, anyone can film you when you're out in public.

From what I’ve seen here in the States, everyone who passed away already had serious underlying health issues, and most were over 80.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the international news lately, and it looks like a bit of optimism is starting to peek through.

European nations are now considering how to ease restrictions as early as next week...

Countries across the continent are moving towards a gradual easing of lockdown measures, and leaders have begun to sound more positive in recent days.

Small, non-essential shops are set to open next week in Austria, Denmark, Norway, Germany and Czech Republic

In Germany, health minister Jens Spahn said on Thursday there could be “a gradual return to normality” after Easter if the current positive trend in numbers accross Europe continues.

Italy, which has the highest death toll worldwide, is also considering how to ease its restrictions. The infection rate there has slowed dramatically from the peak of the outbreak, although Mr Conte warned the country still needed to be cautious

Daily death tolls have decreased for almost a week, while Europe for the time since the start of the pandemic recorded a drop in the number of people being treated in hospital for the virus.

It feels like our mainstream media outlets have been slapped with some kind of gag order when it comes to reporting recovery numbers. You listen to the radio or scroll through the news, and everyone is obsessively rattling off new infection counts and death tolls. Every single headline is screaming about how many people are sick, yet you'll only catch a tiny mention tucked away in some obscure corner of a website noting that there were 40 new recoveries today.

William Kim said:Looking at the infection stats globally, it doesn't look like the Southern Hemisphere is some kind of safe haven from the virus.

And if that turns out to be true, what then? Are we really looking at everyone being forced back into lockdown for another six to eight months by the tenth month of the year?

You really have to look at what season it actually is in those countries to understand how this is playing out. Most cases pop up when a hemisphere is transitioning from winter to spring. If you take a quick peek at the data tables, you'll see places like Australia (about 25 million people) sitting way down at the bottom with only 6,000 cases because they're moving from summer into autumn.

It’s not that summer heat kills the virus or anything; it just doesn't spread nearly as easily, which makes it way easier to keep under control.

Quote: Initial Studies of other coronaviruses - The Common varieties that cause colds in the US

Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley just dropped a major study on the standard coronaviruses—specifically HCoV-NL63, HCoV-OC43, and HCoV-229E. After digging through data collected over multiple years, they spotted a massive spike in similar coronavirus infections during February, whereas things basically flatline during the summer. It turns out these viruses definitely follow a seasonal rhythm, much like other studies have pointed out.

That said, the lead researchers aren't getting ahead of themselves. They issued a serious warning. “We might see steady but much lower rates of coronavirus transmission throughout the summer, though that could flip entirely once winter hits if there is still a huge number of people who haven't built up immunity yet,” he noted.

“Since we're dealing with a brand new virus, we can't be certain if this seasonal trend will actually stick during the summer, especially since so many people are still vulnerable. That's why it is absolutely vital that everyone follows the current health guidelines right now.”

From everything I've read in scientific papers so far, the main takeaway is pretty simple: because this specific mutation is totally new, nobody knows exactly how it'll behave under different conditions. But, it belongs to the same "family" of viruses that act exactly like the ones described in the text.

wiredrider9 said:not gonna happen

Why are you so damn sure about that?

Nobody knows anything yet. For all we know, that virus could just vanish into thin air once summer hits. 🤷
