Well, that's just a straight-up fact (though, obviously, it doesn't apply to everyone)

You aren't any different from 99% of believers out there. In your world, you're either one of them or you're an idiot.

You move to Germany, hang out with the local community, go to church with the German diaspora—who you know have their own opinions—and then you act surprised. It’s the same during election season; you can walk into any church or mosque you want, and they'll keep the political talk to a minimum if you just listen...
It's even worse when you're living in Germany where the church is funded by the congregation; if you don't like it, you just stop attending. Instead, you choose to complain about some American Priest preaching to you about elections. Then you just head over to a German Church, or whatever, in whichever language you prefer—assuming you actually understand anything besides your native tongue...
People just argue too much on social media, which is what I've said before; they waste so much useless time and energy. It's like going to a restaurant—if you don't like the food or the service, you just pick a different place, and there are plenty to choose from. You don't sit there ranting about how the restaurant sucks when it's clearly packed and everyone else seems perfectly happy being there...

And comparing Halloween to Christmas... let's just let this day pass in peace instead of getting bogged down in forum bickering. Merry Christmas to everyone.

For us atheists, Christmas is basically just a day off work—a commercial holiday just like Halloween. Honestly, who cares? We don't work, we stay home with the family, and then we head out at night to grab drinks with the crew and just mess around.
Edit: And honestly, what's better? Most of you Catholics do the exact same thing. Instead of looking for Jesus under the tree, you've got a chocolate Santa Claus there instead. Instead of actual religious hymns, you've got pop songs blasting from speakers while people knock back their seventeenth beer, talking about patriotism around the table while the cleaning crew scrubs the plates that the whole Catholic crowd just finished using for lunch.[/I]
Looking at this parasitic mindset of yours, all I see are the core foundations of communism. Seriously, give me a break.
Paul Martinez73 said:Matthew Young35, do you celebrate Christmas? Got a nice Christmas tree at home? A nativity scene? Heading out for Advent?
It’s actually fascinating how many "Atheists" and "I'm not Catholic" types still celebrate Christmas. So, I have to wonder... are you and Zinedine Zidane part of that little club?

The territory is whole and internationally recognized, so we don't have situations like in Canada or Cyprus (which could have happened). There isn't even a potential for that, so there's no need for massive military spending or all those agencies. The country is a member of every major organization, we have passports that work everywhere, a stable currency, and all the usual government mechanisms. I guess the only thing missing is a stronger economy and reaching its full potential. We seem to lack capital of all kinds, from money to expertise to management.

It's just the way times are going, and maybe an open system actually works better for the average person. At least we aren't living under a military state or clinging to outdated national myths anymore. We basically have a free country now, without all those political strings attached, which means we can move forward or backward based on our own merits.
