Look, I get that you're special, but if I actually have to explain the difference between some random nobody passing away and a legend who spent decades making life better for millions of sports fans, smashing records, winning championships, elevating the entire game, and being a massive role model and inspiration to thousands of athletes globally... then we've got a problem.
Seriously though... you're so unique that you don't even need to pay attention.
Edit: It’s not like I’m overly devastated by the loss of people I don't know—I feel for anyone who passes away—but obviously, when someone famous on a global scale dies, it hits harder. So many of us grew up following these icons, reading about them every day, watching them on TV, playing games about them, or seeing them in movies.
I can't stop thinking about Colin McRae, Kobe Bryant, the late Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Emiliano Sala, the Chapecoense tragedy, and even that hockey team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. All those massive aviation disasters from the last few years just keep weighing on my mind.
Man, this trend of reviving old franchises is getting out of hand 🙏
I remember watching the original on VHS back in the day 🙏 🤦
What’s next? Maybe Eddie Murphy jumping back into a new Beverly Hills Cop, or even Lethal Weapon 5? It’s crazy that it’s only been 22 years since the last one
Seriously, did you see who they cast for Chris Tucker? We need a new Rush Hour

Paul Sanders5 said:Yeah, sure, but only for the first few episodes. By the time Geralt meets Ciri, he and Yennefer are basically old folks. They totally botched the timeline, honestly. Because they messed up the chronological flow, viewers who haven't read the source material have zero clue how a massiveaaaa amount of years passed between all those events.
I totally agree. Check out the thread about the series; you'll see exactly what I mean. A ton of people are just completely lost on this one.
I honestly think the next season is going to have a much higher production value. That’s probably why they pushed it back to 2021—they want to beef everything up. They went off to film that first season, so we'll just have to wait and see. Since the show was a massive hit and got nothing but rave reviews, they're definitely swimming in cash now. They likely didn't want to take any risks and end up flushing all that money down the drain with a flop.
Paul Sanders5 said:In the games, Yennefer is way older, and Geralt is too. Here, we’re just seeing this kid who’s still finding her footing as a sorceress.
Yeah, honestly, it's tough to keep track of everything happening at once. I don't want to spoil anything regarding Duny, but they really could have handled the explanation of the Law of Surprise a lot better.
Nilfgaard is also pretty poorly written. You get this impression they're just some bunch of religious fanatics, even though there's actually a reason why they targeted Cintra specifically—not that I want to 😁 spoil anything—but they're more like the Roman Empire; they just invade and conquer everything because they're constantly expanding. The show makes them look like these one-dimensional villains, when they're actually much better for the elves and dwarves, for example. The series just doesn't show that; it builds them up to be nothing but bad guys.
The series actually takes place before the books and the games based on those books.
Check out this drama. They’re actually planning a day of mourning in Indianapolis because of a few idiots 🤦.
First off, what kind of parent hands a 20-year-old the keys to a BMW 5 Series? Sure, it’s an older model—looks like something from the late 90s—but who cares? It’s got plenty of horsepower and rear-wheel drive. And get this: the kid doesn't even have a license. Second, who encouraged those morons to hop in the car with him? They were clearly out drinking and probably knew damn well he couldn't drive. There is zero chance anyone would volunteer to sit in a passenger seat with someone who’s been drinking. The world is just too free for a few brainless idiots. My only sympathy goes to the innocent people on the road who get hit by someone like this, or the pedestrians caught in the crossfire. As for these guys? Their own stupid decisions landed them in the ground today, and I honestly don't feel a shred of pity for them.
Man, I saw this recently in Indianapolis. A taxi is basically $6.75 everywhere you look. If you go out and hit the clubs, just grab an Uber and get home safe. Period.
Imagine being some inexperienced driver cruising around in a rental. "What do I need a seatbelt for? Just pass me a beer, give me a shot of whiskey, and we'll head home." 93 miles/h. One hand on the wheel, the other scrolling through music on a phone... oh shit, we crashed and died.
Seriously, police, what are you even doing with this whole situation? 🙄
A lot of people are out here claiming that Boris Johnson left the Democratic Party just to run for office—trying to spin it so it looks like the Democratic Party pushed him out to follow the rules while supporting his candidacy. But honestly, hardly anyone is telling the actual truth here. Boris Johnson went rogue, ignored the party's wishes entirely, and ended up getting absolutely slammed for it.
Amanda Evans2 said:Is this Witcher show actually any good? It feels like it's being shoved down our throats everywhere...
I caught the first episode yesterday. Honestly, the guy playing The Witcher is fantastic. You can tell he really studied the games for inspiration because his performance is spot on—it’s almost like watching the game come to life. I’m definitely sticking with it. I liked it.
Paul Martinez73 said:Let me answer you one last time before I just hit the ignore button. No, I’m not some overseas patriot. Nor am I an "American," though I can tell that really rubs you the wrong way given how you act. I shouldn't even type it again since I already took enough heat for what I called you earlier ☕
The German language is my primary tongue because I've been working for a German firm for 15 years now—and yes, even here in Washington, D.C., I work for Germans, using German for writing and reading eight hours a day (Matthew Young35, did I get all that right? Just kidding). I also spent several months living abroad...
Now, why don't you go shove yourself into whatever corner you usually try to stuff everyone else into, and then go play pretend with whoever you want. And as for the... thanks.
Why would it bother me? I've already dealt with plenty of people like you who always care more about everyone else's business than their own. You are actually the textbook definition of an uneducated, narrow-minded zealot who spends his time peeking into other people's apartments, checking their beds, snooping through bank accounts, counting everyone's blood cells, acting like a know-it-all, and pretending he's the moral compass of the world.
