Here’s how I see today's qualifying shaking out. I'm calling it: the front two rows are going to be a showdown between Red Bull and Mercedes. Right behind them, you'll have Lotus and Ferrari fighting for space, though I wouldn't be shocked if Force India manages to sneak their way into those top spots...
As for McLaren? Let's just pray they actually make it into Qualifying 2. 🤦
Peter Carter6 said:I've been following you guys and it's clear you really know your stuff when it comes to Formula 1. Personally, I've just been watching for about 30 years without ever trying to get too deep into analyzing the races, the drivers, or—heaven forbid—the rules. It took me a while to realize this whole circus is a much bigger business than us mere mortals could ever imagine, so I don't bother stressing over it. But hey, tell me, can anyone actually figure out why they didn't call Kimi into the pits during that last SC? Are they still paying him based on how many points he scores? If that's the case, there's your answer right there. And look at those savings for Lotus.
Yeah. It's probably cheaper for them if Kimi just doesn't win 🙄, because let's face it, the prize money for a win or—heaven forbid—a championship title at the end of the season is peanuts. Kimi is just too expensive 🙄
Early reports tried to pin the blame on the curbs at Silverstone, but Fernando Alonso isn't buying it one bit: "I don't think the curbs are the issue. I've been racing on this track for 12 years and they've never given me trouble before. So, I really don't believe they were the problem this year."
It’s like Jenson Button is just standing there watching while Fernando Alonso dances all around him, and now on top of everything, Sergio Perez’s tires are totally shot 🤦
