  1. Not really. From what I gather, that rule is for full-time students living right here in New York City. By that logic, I could probably ride for free too even though I have zero connection to NYC. 😁
And seriously, I don't get why you're making such a huge deal about getting that ID when it's literally free. 😁 Look, you aren't the first person to get slapped with a fine when you actually had a right to a free pass. 😬
  2. I think the fine is like $300, but honestly, I have no clue. Just check. 😉

Yeah, 300 is... but does the fact that I didn't even have my ID on me change anything? Or does it? 🤔

thanks. 😉

  1. The statute was 2 years, now it's 4. And the guys running the local transit authority are way too aggressive (I swear, they'll hunt you down 😍) for this stuff to just vanish. You can pay it (which I suggest), or you can mess around with the court system like I did 😁 But look, I'm from Chicago, so I'm gonna give them hell 😍
I've got about ~43 months left until it's gone 😁
  2. No clue. One friend of mine got hit with the bill after 5 days, another waited 3 months, and one guy never heard a thing. It totally depends on the cops, depends on the courts, and nobody is calling you—they're just gonna mail the bill to your house. I think $100 it's all up in the air 🤷

1. So basically, you're recommending doing exactly what you didn't do 😍. Great. I don't know, I think my eight-day window just closed and now I'm stuck with it. I'm not paying. I'm a college student; what am I supposed to do if I didn't have my ID ready? It shouldn't matter. If all students are entitled to free transit, then showing a student ID should be enough without all this extra bureaucratic nonsense 😠
.
2. Mine happened six months ago and nothing yet. I'm from rural Pennsylvania... I don't know how fast things move out here 🤷 😍 isn't $133?

Got two questions for you guys: 😁

* First, about this fine for riding the bus without a ticket... it was like twenty bucks, and I have 8 days to settle it. 🤔 Technically, that gives me about 4 more days before it's overdue, but 😍 ... honestly, I just really don't feel like paying it. 😁 Back when I was a freshman in college, early on before I even had my student ID, I caught a fine too. But 🤷 nothing ever came of it, luckily. Some classmates told me there's a statute of limitations after two years.
So, I’m wondering how much time actually passes before they come looking, and what kind of trouble I'd actually be in if I skip out on this 😉 since I still have 4 days left. Any advice? Bring it on. 😉
(Sorry if this is a stupid question)

* Second question: About six months ago, the police pulled me over. I didn't have my driver's license OR my ID on me at the time. 😲 (It was one of those days where I grabbed the wrong bag when I headed out 🙄). Since then, there hasn't been a single word from them. When should I realistically expect a phone call, a summons, or a bill showing up at my door? 🤷

And a little bonus question:
* To get my high school diploma certified at my old SCHOOL, do I absolutely have to bring the original physical diploma, or can I get it done without it? You know, the whole official packet containing the diploma plus the four years of transcripts that costs... $20?

Thought I’d throw my two cents into the ring here too.😛
(I am genuinely curious about the psychology behind this whole "selfless helping" thing, though... isn't there always an underlying motive? Doing it just to feel better about yourself? That’s just selfish, really. Doing it so someone else feels better? Now, that’s getting somewhere... but apparently, we aren't supposed to talk about that kind of stuff here, so... 😍)
Anyway, I haven't actually done it yet. It's still pretty early 😉 but I'm getting around to it. First, I have to clean up the house. Then I'll settle in to study—even if I absolutely hate the subject matter. I'm doing it so my mom doesn't worry, and so one day she can be proud of having a daughter with a college degree 😬
Is that enough..?

If we’re really talking about those ten minutes, I’d probably just grab a banana, maybe a pastry, and COFFEE—obviously. 😉 😍

Eh... reading this feels a little too much like looking in a mirror. Honestly, back in high school, I was all about that grind—just studying, studying, studying. I’d intentionally isolate myself and turn down any chance to actually go out and live my life.
On one hand, I told myself it was fine to be that hyper-focused on my responsibilities, but deep down, I was constantly dreaming about having a solid group of friends and just letting loose. Hehe. 😢
I remember in our senior year, my English teacher asked us what we considered our greatest life achievement so far. Since I had won a few academic competitions and pulled decent grades, everyone expected me to brag about taking first place in... well, who knows.
But I gave a hard "No." I basically admitted right then and there that those "achievements" didn't mean anything to me because I still felt like something was missing.
Then college happened, and everything started shifting. 🙄
I started going out more, sure, but it didn't end well. I ended up neglecting my responsibilities, and at the same time, I developed this nagging feeling that I was being fake. It felt like people in college saw a completely different version of me than the people from high school did.

I think you might be dealing with the same thing I am—maybe someone from your past made you feel like you weren't enough, and it just got burned into your brain. Now, you're projecting that onto everyone and every relationship you have. 🤷
You're afraid to open up because you're worried they'll find something about you they don't like. That's exactly how I feel.
You just really have to sit with yourself and figure out what it is that's actually making you scared to be vulnerable.
Cheers.
