Here are some details regarding Emma’s bakery...

I placed a deposit with them a few days ago after touring about ten different bakeries, and this one definitely blew me away. The lady there packed up about 20 different kinds of bite-sized pastries for us to sample at home, along with a slice of cake. And I can tell you this: even though I usually argue against serving those little finger foods at weddings, I’m actually starting to second-guess my stance...
The pastries truly taste homemade, and unlike the mass-produced stuff you often find, none of them taste exactly the same. The whole shop smells like heaven. As for the cakes, I don't even need to go into detail; we actually went back the very next day for more 😬
. The price for the assorted pastries is $23, and a cake large enough for 60 people runs about $167.

👋 I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the pastries. We had their cakes and a wedding cake at our own reception, and we were thoroughly satisfied. As for Aunt Snow, she is truly one of a kind.

Exactly. A small town where everything is just... everything.

Zachary Gray35 said:Ladies, I have a quick question. Where can I find those little cookie boxes? I need about 15 of them for some treats we're making to give out to neighbors and family... I don't want to be handing them out on plates or in bowls. Just something simple, though I have a soft spot for those ribbed brown ones...
if anyone knows, let me know...

You can pick them up at the Subway, specifically that little corner shop in the Harbor area—can't recall the name right now—but they carry just about everything for baking.

I was thinking about swinging by there after work today.

I don't have the exact address on hand, but I can DM you their number. Give them a call and they'll sort you out, if you're interested.

I suspect Emma's bakery doesn't have a website yet. It’s probably best to just head over there in person, see what they're about, and talk business directly.😘

I agree. We had their sweets once; they were incredible. All credit to them.😍

100 kg for 150 people feels excessive 🙂 considering there’s going to be plenty of other food. Personally, I tend to eat the least amount of cake at weddings—even though I have a sweet tooth. Still, I wouldn't want to run out..

We ended up with 50 kg of sweets total—splitting it 25 kg for him and 25 kg for me. We had 120 guests, none of whom were family, just people at the venue. You wouldn't believe how much was left over; I even brought some to my office and spent the next week tucking leftovers into my fridge. 100 kg is way too much. People don't just eat dessert all night.😘

Regarding the dessert situation, we packed up 8-ounce boxes for guests to take home, which turned out to be just enough. As for the reception itself, we had ten tables of twelve, each featuring three massive platters overflowing with sweets. I actually worried we’d overdone it at first, but seeing how little was left by the end of the night, I was relieved we didn't skimp on the order...
I wanted to check if anyone here happened to pick up treats from the Sweet Secret bakery over by the Mississippi River. We used them for our wedding, and when my husband and I stopped by recently, the owner mentioned a few ladies from the Forum had been in to grab desserts for a wedding too.🙂I hope they lived up to expectations.😘

silverbadger3 said:So, tell me, were you actually happy with it? How was the cake? Was it tiered? Two tiers?
Different flavors for each layer?

I was more than satisfied. There's still plenty left over, if that's any indication.
Regarding the cake, ours had three tiers, though they weren't stacked on those separate stands—you know the look. My husband insisted on chocolate. I was worried about it melting in this heat, but it turned out perfectly. It sat on a mirrored platter, draped in ivy and silk flowers. Truly striking.😘

Thanks for the heads up, Noah Green5. 🤣

They definitely deliver. They dropped off some pastries at our hotel along with a cake once. Hope you enjoy them.😉

EXACTLY. That bakery is far too polished for this neighborhood.

Don't trouble yourself. I'm sure you'll all reach an agreement eventually. Good luck—keep me posted.

Sent you a DM.

In Smalltown, USA, there's a woman named Snow - 555-012-3456

Give her a call and ask. Nothing to lose.

I suppose it should be available. We haven't actually gone to check yet, but if they don't have them, I'll just pick up some different sized ones. You can find those at any Staples or Office Depot, though I assume any local stationery shop would carry them too.

Taylor Wells68 said:Those crystal decals are a BRILLIANT idea! I should definitely try that too!!

The concept holds water. We handled most things ourselves—invitations, party favors, you name it—just to shave a bit off the budget. Usually, you just get those standard bakery labels on cookie boxes, so we figured, why not design our own?

Taylor Wells68 said:just a silly question—where is Naperville? and are the boxes colored? how will you handle the labels? I know I'm asking too many questions... but those boxes are driving me crazy..

Even you. People focus on the cookies, not the packaging. The boxes are white with tiny silver hearts—though there might be other colors, I didn't bother looking. I'll just grab some small oval stickers from a local craft store, like the ones used for glassware, and print names and dates on them. It’s done. I wasn't about to pay $5$2.00 per box through those fancy catering agencies.
