We ended up having about 200 pounds of dessert for a crowd of 150 people, which honestly felt like an absolute mountain of sweets... For the goody bags we sent home with guests, we packed about a third of a pound per person—people were actually commenting on how generous the portions were—and after that, there was still enough left over for the staff at the venue, so we managed to clear everything out perfectly in the end... everyone walked away happy and well-fed...

velvetgull9 said:You should probably take a look over at the Foodie forum... there was this one woman, I think her handle was margarita, who used to make these absolutely stunning cakes 🙏 The thread was called something along the lines of Artistic Creations, and she’d post links to all her work—just photos of the cakes themselves. She actually had plans to start her own boutique bakery and just focus on that full-time. There were a few other ladies too, though I can't quite recall their names now, who were doing some pretty miraculous things with sugar and flour. 😍

Go dig around a bit, you might actually stumble onto some inspiration... 😉

This is what I’m aiming for—well, something along those lines... it’s basically just a photo to give you an idea of the vibe I'm going for
Jesse Ross11, that cake of yours looks absolutely incredible

I’m planning on wrapping my cake in wide satin ribbons around every layer, since it’s going to be a four-tier square design. But I realize that doesn't really help you out, considering it isn't exactly "natural" decoration...🙂

I mean, this cake is honestly just too cute for its own good... I’m probably not going to end up using it since I found something a bit more elegant and sophisticated, but there’s just something about this design that really caught my eye... though obviously, it would need some tweaks to work for me. It doesn't quite fit the overall vibe of the wedding we're planning, so I'll pass, but man, it is a cool look...
