Hey David Torres5, what's yours going to look like? We never actually got around to talking about it😍
And do you happen to know anything about how I could trim down this guest list?

Check out my previous post—I put some orchids on there. Take a look.
The lanes will just be purple.
I don't know anything about this whole downsizing thing. My folks haven't mentioned a word about it to me...

Jonathan Hill6, your link isn't working.

All these cakes look incredible,
not sure how things work in NYC,
but here in California, I definitely got some weird looks when I asked if they could make one for me.
So, I just went with the simplest cake possible to avoid any extra drama...

Mine's gonna look like this,
just with different colored stripes...

He gets lost... then after an hour of delay, he basically flies into the venue—sudden braking, barely stops, and then... well, you can imagine what was left of the cake behind him😂 Honestly, some incredibly skilled, "ready-for-anything" wedding planner managed to fix the mess... I won't even go into detail, but they pulled off something straight out of a movie. There was cake everywhere in the van😬 😬 🤣

I remember watching that too. It totally reminded me of this friend of mine whose cake got smashed at a restaurant. It fell, but thankfully they had ordered five or six other nearly identical cakes for the bridal party and the big dinner the next day. They just stacked them all on the restaurant's display stand and called it a day...
That’s why I’m planning to do the same thing just in case. You can never be too careful!

Honestly,
I can't believe the trolls that hang out here... Sometimes it feels like they show up just to stir the pot...

Ladies,
what are your thoughts on setting up a dedicated dessert table with everything laid out nicely? Something like this:

Should I still put some on the main tables?
Since it’s mostly a younger crowd, we're doing a buffet style with a separate bar for whatever drinks they want. I figured having a standalone dessert station would be way more practical so the guest tables don't get totally cluttered with food and stuff...

I’m craving a Black Forest cake...
Anyone else ever wanted one of those as their wedding cake???
Come on ladies, tell me what kind of cakes you guys are planning...

We’ve still got some time, but we decided to spend this week doing a little "tasting tour" of local bakeries... so far the plan is to hit up: Emma, Vincent, and I want to try that Little Cake House too. I actually met this really sweet lady at a bridal expo who just opened a new shop in a small town in the Midwest, and she lets you try wedding cake samples for free... so we'll see how that goes. We're looking for a tiered cake, but without those plastic stands... more like the style you guys were describing.😍
The guy over at Grandma's baked goods near Grand Central Terminal told me the same thing—that you can't actually make them look like that, they're just props in magazines.👎

Let them praise Tina's Delicacies in San Francisco... Emin's cake was gorgeous...

I was literally just about to say the same thing—you need internal supports to keep all the layers even. My mom told me that; she works wonders with these cakes, but she won't do ours for the wedding because she's terrified of messing it up...

Honestly, they all look amazing—I'd love to try everything. But I'm just glad Emma pointed me toward this killer bakery that can actually pull this off. I saw some photos of a cake they made recently, and it’s almost exactly what I have in mind.

I think that's a killer idea. A friend of mine did something similar—she had everything themed like that, from custom candy shop boxes to denim jackets, she even worked leaves and grape clusters into her bouquets.

Michael Jones23, what’s your take on grapevine leaves? Maybe even some little clusters of grapes? A friend of mine had one, and man, it looked incredible!
