😲 😲 Honestly, please don't tempt me to go and indulge myself too! DON'T! I really mean it—it's a struggle. 😛
p.s. Though, you could always... oh, come on... let me sneak a bite. I might just fly in from London specifically for that. You all can get married or whatever it is you're doing, while I stay in the background just tasting everything... then again, who knows what I might end up slipping into your cake?! 😲
Actually, when you really step back and look at it... once there's a foundation of trust—and, of course, when you account for just how much experience they bring to the table—it’s better not to overstep or micromanage. It's better to just let them do their thing. In the end, that's usually how you get the best results 😁
Personally, I’m more curious about what it's actually going to be made of. 😁 Though—and I know she’s stunning—it’s far from being realistic... it’s just... well, you're right, she looks like she stepped straight out of a cartoon. 👍
Just so there isn't any misunderstanding—and I certainly wouldn't want anyone thinking I'm just messing around here—I wanted to share a photo of someone I find truly striking.
Well, this topic caught my eye and I stumbled upon this... apparently, it's the largest wedding cake in the world! If you're feeling particularly ambitious or just love a bit of excess, go ahead and dive in! 😁
So, how exactly do you even cut that? I mean—do you need to climb onto a stool just to reach it, or do you just stretch yourself out? 🤔
Well, look, I wouldn't personally pick something like that for myself—but hey, I’m not one to judge someone else's taste... I suppose they liked it! Though, honestly, I think I'd be a bit shell-shocked if I showed up to some banquet looking like that... and I'm talking about the sheer scale of it, not necessarily the aesthetic itself...
I happened to stumble upon that boutique cake website out of pure curiosity... and I saw this
wow... what a cake!!! It’s a tower! It is absolutely massive!!!! 😲 😲 😲
(By the way—please don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying anything negative—it's just that the sheer scale of that... marvel! left me completely stunned!)

I already put my deposit down on this one—she’s vetted, she's reliable—and yet my mother won't stop calling me every single day to lecture me about how much I spent on her! It’s not like I’m living in Los Angeles or San Francisco where I have some huge crew or family nearby who could step in and help me out. I am honestly going to go crazy dealing with her...😈
Well, do you even know the lady's name? If so, just call the agency for info. Or, perhaps more effectively, tell your mom that this is *your* wedding and *your* budget—tell her to stop messing around and just hand over the number. 🙄
I honestly envy you. I had the exact same intention—I even went as far as reading a cookbook to get ideas for decorating, and I actually had a whole step-by-step plan ready to go—but then my mom was like, "Why bother? We need to deep-clean the entire house the day before, so there's no point in you just making a mess with flour for no reason."
Though, I suppose she's technically right... I tend to leave a bit of a disaster zone behind me, but hey, it’s fine, no big deal. 😬
Besides, the hotel includes it in the service fee anyway, so we might as well enjoy it.
Seriously though, kudos to you. I am genuinely looking forward to seeing the photos. 🙂
Well, I haven't actually tried making it myself... but I really love the look of that cake—and honestly, as long as it ends up looking just like that on the outside, 🙂 I think it'll be a success.

Hahaha, 🤣 I thought the exact same thing 😁 but it isn't. To me, it also resembles some sort of whipped cream... though, perhaps the color shifted slightly because the image was scanned and shrunk down. In the actual book where the photo originated, it's quite large—you can clearly see that everything surrounding it is pure white.🙂
I actually have a recipe tucked away somewhere for it. Inside, it’s just your standard, light fruit filling—essentially the same fruit you see on the outside, layered between the pastry and a bit of cream. 🙂 Everything is according to plan.
To be honest, I’ve never been much for those perfectly smooth, flawless looking ones. It almost feels like a shame to cut into them.
Hello... I am bringing my dream cake back to the forefront here—I believe I mentioned it at the very beginning of this thread, but I wanted to repost it so you wouldn't have to go hunting for it when I eventually ask: what do you all think this frosting is made of? It doesn't strike me as that stiff, traditional icing, but rather something much softer—perhaps something akin to whipped cream. If I were to make a "standard, classic" cake, this is exactly the kind of thing I would aim for...
David Torres5—this one right in the middle is fantastic! I personally can't stand those "smooth" ones—I've never been a fan of that glossy finish—but I can certainly appreciate why 🙂 enjoys looking at them.
My brother actually dealt with the same issue a few years back—it wasn't quite from the Midwest, but it was still pretty far out, coming from somewhere near Washington, D.C.—whereas here I am in Small Town, USA... they delivered our items right to the house, and then we just ended up asking friends to drive them the rest of the way to us.
I honestly have no clue where she placed the order—I just know it was supposed to ship from somewhere quite a distance away, so there’s a chance it might even be coming from Washington, D.C... 😉 Maybe try asking around a bit... I'm sure someone would be willing to handle it, even if they haven't stepped up to do something like that before. 🙂
