Does anyone have any insight??😵
Well, the lady I spoke with mentioned they usually go with satin, though I guess I’m not entirely sure if there are other options out there. Personally, I don't think paper would work very well, mostly because I imagine it would be a real struggle to tie a pretty bow with it, and honestly, I'd be worried that if the cake has even a tiny bit of moisture to it, the paper might end up bleeding dye onto the frosting. I can say for certain about the satin ones, though...
So, I finally went in today to get the cake order sorted out. The lady behind the counter was super helpful; she actually sat down with me so we could hammer out all the details together. We settled on a five-tier masterpiece—layers of chocolate, Black Forest, chestnut, and two layers of strawberry—all sitting on this gorgeous crescent moon stand. It’s going to be finished with white fondant and these lovely pink satin bows wrapped around each tier, topped off with little pink rose decorations... honestly, based on everything we discussed, it’s going to look just like a giant little confectionary dream. I'm just crossing my fingers that nothing goes sideways at the last minute and we don't end up with something completely different showing up at midnight, though I really, really hope that doesn't happen...
Just a little heads-up... the marriage water lines are shut off right now... so you might want to avoid looking for them there just in case.
Honey, you're 79 now, so listen to me when you finally make it out to Indianapolis, you absolutely have to stop by Super. There’s this little specialty shop there that does all sorts of wedding supplies, and I was thinking—maybe you could ask them if they carry that Fondant icing? I’m pretty sure they should have it in stock, but even if they don't, you can just have them order it from their main warehouse over in Columbus since that’s where their big flagship store and bakery are located. You could actually order whole cakes or fancy pastries through them too; I remember seeing this one absolutely stunning cake made with fondant at a local craft fair that they had put together, and it looked just incredible...

you seriously need to check out the wedding cakes over at Crown...
I was honestly blown away, so I'm definitely going to give their head pastry chef a call to get everything sorted out
I actually made my mind up about choosing Crown a while ago, though I haven't sat down for the formal consultation yet—I really need to get that done as soon as possible... if you look at that catalog, there’s a phone number for the bakery located right on Divalt Avenue... that's where you go to finalize all the details, and they have photos of their cakes there so you can pick out exactly what kind you want...
I honestly thought I was going to have a total meltdown because I’m absolutely obsessed with frosting, and I just have this huge soft spot for those messy, rustic, crumbly cakes—you know, total kid at heart vibes 😬—but now that I'm looking at all these incredibly polished, professional cakes you guys are making with that perfect fondant work, I’m starting to think maybe I need to step up my game and try something like that too...
Honestly, guys, this is getting ridiculous... we've moved past just arguing and now people are actually being insulting. Joseph Watson10 and boldbison26 keep insisting that everything has to go their way, basically forcing their own ideas on everyone else while completely dismissing ours as stupid... well, if you ask me, your ideas seem pretty foolish to us too...
At the end of the day, I guess everyone should just have the kind of cake they want, even if that means there’s only one single type served at the whole wedding...
Honestly, I have such a massive sweet tooth for peaches... 🙂 ...like, I could seriously eat them by the bucketload 🙂

Haha, oh man, that is just hilarious!👍 Honestly, I am still struggling so much with deciding who to actually hire. I guess I’m just as incredibly picky when it comes to desserts as anyone else, and I really need to make a final decision and get everything booked within the next week or so, otherwise I'll be panicking about being too late and just want to get this whole thing off my plate. So, if you don't mind me asking, maybe you could send me that lady's phone number in a private message? 🙂 Just in case I can't find anything better, then I can go ahead and start making all those same demanding requests myself! 😁 🤣
Scott Smith68, where are you planning on ordering those from? I wonder how many pounds we can actually get our hands on... they honestly look so incredibly delicious...
Arthur Ramirez4, I don't know their exact price list off the top of my head, but they have some absolutely stunning rings with that classic, vintage charm. If you head over toward the Turbo Lima shop—you know, that little spot near Super—there’s that tiny jewelry boutique tucked away in the walkway. I honestly don't think they're outrageously expensive, either. Maybe you could try describing the specific style of ring you're dreaming about to them? That way, they might be able to custom-make something special for you right around the $833 mark. I guess that's probably the best way to ensure you end up with something you truly love without breaking the bank.
