Applying for a loan while living abroad in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
James Jackson said:I originally asked about those Austrian loans on another thread, but this one seems way more active, so I’m circling back: does anyone know why there is zero info out there regarding the mess involving Etheric and the Association? Specifically, the whole situation with mortgage loans from banks over in Austria. Everything I’ve managed to dig up, I found via a niche investigative site—is it really the case that nobody else is talking about this? Does anyone have the inside scoop?
I don't get why the media is staying silent, and I can't find a single forum where people are even discussing it...

Well, you provided the link yourself; it was covered on two investigative news segments and a few pieces in the Daily News. That's largely it. You might find more leads on the Aktiva Group LLC forum, where people are linking those Austrian debts to that specific company.

I am prepared to offer a broker 20% of the loan amount, and if you connect me with them, I'll give you 10%. I just need to get this done.
The plan and the concept are brilliant and absolutely worth it, which is why I'm willing to offer such a massive commission.

Well, before you go chasing a loan like that, it might be wise to look over this link:

Just double-check whether you're dealing with JPMorgan Chase or an REI Co-op using a similar logo... wouldn't want things to end up like this: 🙂🙂

It’s unlikely you'll start having severe rectal pain out of nowhere. It's much more probable that a lesion occurred during labor—pelvic fractures aren't off the table either. So rather than just popping Advil, you need proper diagnostics—it would be wise to see an orthopedist and perhaps get some pelvic imaging.

I feel for you 🙂 and have been in this exact same spot. Lower back pain radiating through the pelvis and down my right leg to the knee. I had an X-ray at Mayo Clinic that showed narrowing of the spinal canal in three places. Now I'm doing physical therapy privately and yoga. After a month of pain, I can finally say I'm feeling much, much better. I definitely agree with the bolded part; it's hard to get a precise diagnosis, and even harder to pick a treatment without actual imaging. Good luck regardless. This can be fixed, provided you head in the right direction. 👍

Sam Kim12 said:If the thing was melting, don't blame the pastry chef—blame the restaurant for failing to keep it in the fridge.😉

That’s fair, though it was already "melting" the moment I picked it up from them—being a wedding cake, there was no turning back once it left their hands. Regardless, it doesn't matter now.🙂

It’s just that I’m feeling a bit on edge right now—mostly because work has been a grind, plus all this legal headache involving the estate, and then there's the kid. On top of that, I’ve told you before, I went through something almost identical regarding a restaurant once...
Look, I didn't mean to come off as rude, but (sorry) I honestly couldn't even find the words to soften it this time...

😘 To you, I really didn't mean anything by it

I feel bad about the restaurant incident. I didn't mean anything by it and we're good on my end. 👍 We're all a little stressed, but I trust we'll all be happy with the outcome eventually. 🙂

Hang in there. 😘

I was simply sharing my own experiences. I hope that’s allowed, unless I've misunderstood the rules...?

Of course, I want you to be completely satisfied with them. Personally, I don't think you needed to react quite like that; one shouldn't walk away from something just because someone else had a bad run with it... there's always someone with a bad experience, myself included.

Ronald Hill3 said:Sure, that would be great. Please send those details over via PM. 😘 I haven't actually ordered the cake yet (they told me it was still a bit too early), but I'm thinking about getting it from Graber (I think I posted a photo of it somewhere in this thread). Honestly, I've always been more than happy with both the taste and the look of the cakes I've gotten there (though maybe I shouldn't get too carried away right before my own wedding 😬 ), and it's easily my favorite spot. As for the small pastries, I haven't made up my mind yet—I suspect Graber might be a little outside my budget. 😳
I'm going to go dig through your old posts about Topolovec now... 😘

I wasn't happy with them 👎 — as I mentioned, I'll admit the cake tasted fine BUT the decorations 👎 👎 — they were literally melting. On my neighbor's cake, they used pink tulle even though she explicitly asked for white or beige 😲

analogmason15 I picked up a cake from a bakery in Naperville based on a recommendation as well. I can send you their number if you'd like.

A couple of years ago, I ordered a wedding cake from that same shop in Greenfield for a friend's wedding. I was absolutely livid 😠 😠 because the decoration was a complete disaster. Despite explaining exactly what I wanted, they assured me it wouldn't be an issue, yet... The cake itself tasted fine, but I've sworn off them for my own wedding. That's just my experience, though I know others have had better luck.

It's Super, if I could actually track one down.🙄

Jeffrey Castillo8 You might want to call a few local bakeries to see how many tiers you'll need for 280 guests. A friend of mine ordered a seven-tier cake for 120 people; she eventually realized four would have been plenty, though she didn't mind having extra to share.

Sam Kim12 said:Don't even bother looking at their stuff online—honestly, it’s a waste of time. In most cases, what you see on their site isn't actually what they carry in the physical store; the inventory is completely different. You're much better off just driving over and browsing the aisles in person.😉

Fair point. I just remembered that the items I saw online at "bits and pieces" looked nothing like the actual stock when I went in. Looks like a long drive ahead...😁

coastalmason68 said:Take a peek at http://www.brides.com/—they have a decent selection that might actually be useful to you... honestly, quite a few women just order their stuff online these days!

Thanks 😘, I'll take a look.
Is there a specific site for online orders? I tried searching Google, but nothing useful popped up.🙄

I agree.👍

Does anyone know where I can find some cake toppers? I checked at Target, but nothing caught my eye.
Thanks in advance.

Ronald Hill3 said:I’m actually obsessed with this cake (please excuse the quality; I had to scan it since I couldn't get a decent photo elsewhere)...

It’s from that little local bakery here in town—the owner mentioned it was made for a crowd of about 250 to 280 people (though, honestly, I probably need something a bit smaller) and they priced it at around $1,500 to $0.53. Personally, I think that’s a steal. The cake looks incredible, too. My only gripe is that instead of looking for flaws, I’d much rather be looking for calories or pastries. It’s a minor thing, I guess. The bigger issue, though, is that my husband would want a cake on a formal pedestal, not something styled like this. He usually only speaks up when he’s about to veto something I actually want, UNKNOWN 🙂 🙂

The photo looks familiar; perhaps it's from "Grabar" bakery (if they haven't rebranded)?
The price—and the cake itself—is excellent. I once ordered for 150 guests for $267 at "Luciana"
But you'll eventually win him over so you can have your way with the cake selection—we women tend to understand each other better in these matters, don't we? 👍 I'm rooting for you.
