I've seen them play at a few weddings. They're from out in the Midwest. Seriously great guys, they never stop playing and just know how to get the party going. Their real name is The Onion.

Ugh, you're making me hungry! I've got this amazing strawberry cake sitting right here in my fridge. Now the real question is: the forum or the cake? 🙄
Kenneth Vaughn10 said:Lake, I have no clue where you were looking for cake, but I’m probably just going to grab mine from that little spot across from the old chapel—it's more of a boutique bakery than a full-on pastry shop, if that makes sense. Just ask around there. For 120 people, my cake is looking like it'll run me about $333.
Yo, that's awesome, Martin Luther King Jr.! Seriously though, how are their sweets? You actually tried them yet? Think they're good?
I just want a chocolate cake, but they won't make one here in Slough either. It's awful! I'm thinking about packing my bags, though I seriously doubt anyone here would actually know how to bake one properly.

Simple but looks great. 🙂
Oh man, ladies, I’m reading this and losing my mind! 🤣 🤣 Ashley, looks like you finally found one that fits. She's cute. Those are my colors too, so I'm gonna grab something similar, just way bigger and obviously without any of that extra fluff.
Joshua Clark, everything you said about buttercream, whipped cream, and chocolate is spot on. I made my sister's wedding cake using whipped cream once, and honestly, you can get it looking flawless if you just have hot water, high-end heavy cream, and the right tools. We had a walk-in cooler at the venue, so I was good to go. I’m never a fan of that vegetable shortening stuff regardless of the brand, and while meringue looks amazing, you really have to be a pro to pull it off. That lemon glaze? Total trash. I guess if you love sour flavors, maybe, but I can't stand it. For me, it's chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. I’m seriously thinking about just baking my own cakes since you aren't nearby 😘 😘 because we both absolutely despise margarine, dry sponge cake, and all that other bakery junk. 😁

Here’s my update: I'm laughing because just yesterday I was 100% certain I’d be getting a simple white cake with real roses... Then, I changed my mind. My partner and I decided to go with a heavily decorated one instead. It's stunning and definitely not "simple." He had some influence over the choice, but I wouldn't have budged if it wasn't 😍
The thing about the bakery in Vincennes is that the decoration is where they get you. They tack on an extra 20-50% just for the decor—and ours ended up being fifty percent more than that. They have this scheme where they can make a cake for 200 to 270 people, and we need enough for 250... We decided to get the one meant for 200 people, and the total price is $900. The lady there advised us to get a smaller one since there's supposedly leftover waste, especially since we'll have side cakes anyway. Since our venue covers the cost of a $333 cake, we have to pay an additional $567. Honestly, it seems fine to me because this cake is special.
Visually, it looks like three tiers, but it's actually six because every tier is a double layer.
Flavors: chocolate and Vincennes at the bottom, chocolate and vanilla parfait in the middle, and at the top (the part we'll actually snack on), Black Forest and fruit parfait.
Good grief, this is my longest post ever—consider this my full report.😉
Aha! So we're in the same boat! You changed your mind too! 😬 Now I'll be the only one wanting a simple cake, but after reading this, I totally get why you switched. Sounds delicious!😁 👍
Linda Adams8 said:I’m going to make a cake that's completely white, covered in icing, and I can design it exactly how you want it. I actually saw an article in the paper the other day about some girl who had a custom cake made that looked just like Tom Cruise and Katie.
Mine will be completely white with red roses... I think I already posted a picture somewhere.
Man, I want one exactly like that too, but who knows? I change my mind constantly. 😁

Heard that too. A buddy ordered a cake from there once and it was killer regardless of who owns it now.
Hey girls! I let my sister pick her own wedding cake design, and she went big with four tiers. One was strawberry shortcake, one was caramel, third was parfait, and the fourth was lotus—meringue, hazelnut, Nutella, plus chocolate and vanilla creams (my absolute favorite, btw). Needless to say, it was gone in seconds. I think it’s super important to include your personal favorite, but definitely keep the other flavors varied to match everyone's tastes.🙂
Arthur Ramirez4 said:Hey, I’ve been scrolling through your feed and noticed you have an absolutely massive collection of photos featuring these huge, elaborate wedding cakes, which looks incredible, but it actually got me wondering if you might happen to have any shots of smaller, more intimate cakes? Like, maybe just one or two tiers? I’m planning this tiny, low-key wedding and I’m really leaning towards something more understated, and honestly, I haven't been able to find the exact style I'm dreaming of anywhere else online. So, if you do have some pictures of those smaller designs lying around and you wouldn't mind sharing them, I would be so incredibly grateful!😘
Some of these look a bit extra to me, but you can totally simplify them. Just like those other cakes I sent earlier, you could just do one or two tiers and still keep the main vibe. Hope that helps even a little.😘

Sweet! Glad you guys dig the cakes. Here's a few more. Got a ton more on my PC but it takes forever moving files on this total junker of a laptop. 😘

those ones from the slideshow look absolutely fantastic...👍
Stayed up until 4:00 AM making these for my sister before her wedding prep started at 7:00—she looked stunning though. They vanished instantly. One literally crumbled just from someone mentioning cookies. Now my cousins are gonna bake more using my recipes, and I’ll just handle the decorating.
Hey girls! I'm finally jumping in here too. I'll probably whip up my cake a day ahead of time since I’ve done this before for my sister and some buddies. Here’s a quick look at some cake shots from my computer that I use for inspo—hope you guys dig them as much as I do.
