Hey everyone, I'm starting to think about building a new gaming rig. Give me some ideas around the $1000 mark, but keep in mind I already have a GPU that’ll hold out for a bit (an r7 260x 2gb ddr5), and I don't need a power supply included. Try to put together the best build possible for that budget so I can stay in the game as long as possible—ideally, I'd just be swapping in a new graphics card down the road. Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone, which way is the better move? Should I drop $67 on some new Medusa NX, or go with $117 for the SteelSeries V2 7.1 (they're only a month old and still under warranty)?

But I don't really get how motherboards and processors work together—what should I be looking out for? Can someone recommend something for under 350-$133 that can actually run cod4, Far Cry 3, and GTA IV without terrible lag or being stuck at 50 FPS thanks!
Hmm, that's a pretty ancient machine.
For what it's worth, I have the processor they suggested to you and I'm perfectly happy with it, considering it's over 5 years old. I just upgraded my graphics card and now everything runs smoothly.
If you're looking for a GPU, I might be willing to part with my old 4650 for a symbolic amount... I'm not sure if it's enough for GTA IV since I haven't played it, but I know I ran Far Cry 3 on medium settings at full resolution just fine, and cod4 worked without any issues at all.
Well, I guess I should just say I finally pulled the trigger on an r7 260 x. I didn't exactly save enough for a decent steak dinner, but I added $4.75 😬 and grabbed this 2GB version instead.

So I'm looking at Protis and apparently there's a difference between the 1GB Radeon RX 560 and the 2GB version besides just $4.75... even though they're from the same manufacturer. Is that actually possible?
That’s what I did. I’ll burn the new ones after work and give you a shout if things go sideways. By the way, this one wasn't in ISO format. Now that I'm using these specific ones, is there going to be any difference when I try to boot?
$267 is way too much for her, especially if it’s used. I picked up a Radeon RX 560 today that’s a massive step up from $297. It’s faster, it’s new, and it costs more for reasons I can't even begin to explain...$30...
I finally decided to wipe my drive after what feels like five years. I pop in the disc, reboot, mash F12 to boot from the CD, and hit enter—only for the system to just bypass everything and boot straight back into Windows like nothing happened. I've tried this about ten times now. Any ideas? :/
I can't even remember exactly where I left off; I think I wrote about 15 pages or so previously. Regarding that Cooler Master unit—you guys did mention there might be some cheap junk inside 😁
So... is it actually worth shelling out more cash? I barely scraped together the $300 😬 I have right now, but if it makes a massive difference for gaming, I guess I'll find a way to make it happen.
What’s actually different here besides the price tag? I'm looking at the XFX R7 260 x ZNF4, the Core Radeon R7 260 x 1075M Boost 1GB, and the Sapphire R7 260X 1GB GDDR5 OC, 1GB GDDR5 128bit, 28nm. Is there anything else worth noting?
Alright, I’m looking to beef up my old rig with a new GPU. Here’s what I’m running right now, so tell me what the best possible upgrade would be. Also, let me know what else I should swap out if I want this thing to keep running games for a few more years.
So... I'm looking at an NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 or maybe an EVGA Radeon HD7770. Which manufacturer should I go with if I want something actually reliable?
