Which are you more afraid of: death or the pain?

I would certainly choose death over living in a wheelchair or enduring constant, intense pain.
I simply cannot fathom a life confined to a chair. I have immense respect for those who possess the sheer willpower to adapt and push forward in such circumstances, but... I don't think I have that kind of strength in me.
