Well, honestly, in my experience—and I’ve seen this happen quite a bit—that isn't always the case. Since you're already about a week late, I'd say just try testing again, maybe wait until tomorrow morning when you're first up to get the most accurate result.
God, there could be a million different reasons why your cycle is off, so please don't start spiraling, especially if you aren't feeling anything else weird, like tender breasts or bloating and stuff... Honestly, if I were you, I’d probably just take the test again. I mean, during my first pregnancy, I did two tests right away, and then after about a week, the third one was like, a massive positive. It was kind of a shock, I guess. Anyway, have you been feeling anything else lately? Like any weird symptoms or whatever?
