Ladies, this is my first time posting here and I am looking for some guidance.
I’ve been tracking my cycle closely and my period is now three days late.
I took a test yesterday afternoon, but it came back negative.
Based on what I’ve read in previous threads, it seems there is a chance these tests can be inaccurate.
Should I just sit tight and wait a bit longer, or should I go straight to the doctor for a blood test?

Thanks so much, everyone.

I don't think you need to rush out for a blood test just yet; your best bet is to wait until tomorrow morning and use your first urine of the day, as the hormone concentration from an afternoon test might not have been high enough to trigger a positive. If that comes back negative as well, you should probably wait another seven days before testing again with that same first-morning sample. If it stays negative after that, you likely aren't pregnant, at which point you should see your OBGYN to figure out why your cycle is off, because by ten days out, hCG levels should be high enough for any standard drugstore test to catch them. I'm rooting for a positive for you.

Thank you so much. 🙂🙂

I assume any brand of test will work? 😕
Ladies, this is my first time posting here and I could really use some guidance.
Since I’m currently navigating a semi-planned pregnancy, I’ve noticed my period is already three days late.
I took a home test yesterday afternoon, but the result came back negative.
After looking through some of the older threads on this forum, it seems clear that these tests aren't always as foolproof as they claim to be.
Should I just sit tight and wait a bit longer, or would it be smarter to go get a blood test done immediately?

Thanks in advance to everyone. 🙂
