The two states in the US seeing the highest birth rates are California and Mississippi.
In both of those areas, there's an absolute majority of non-religious folks—mostly because these are underdeveloped regions.

I’m starting this thread because the US Army has moved into larger portions of Iraqi Kurdistan to establish these so-called "security" zones. It makes you wonder where all those people are who get so worked up about Palestinian rights? There isn't a single word being said about Kurdish rights, which is pure hypocrisy if you ask me. As I sit here writing this, US Army forces are operating in northern Iraq without any trials, juries, or public oversight, essentially "eliminating" Kurds to appease Arabs, Canadians, and Indonesians...

Where is all that "Muslim solidarity" that people like vjack, nordea, and the rest always preach about? Even the users on this forum who identify as Muslim aren't saying anything or even starting threads about this.

It’s your typical day for a Kurd living in Istanbul. By day, he works like a decent Tuchin—which is how he chooses to identify—selling vegetables at the market. But by night, he fires up the satellite TV just to check which more Kurdish villages were burned down to create a buffer zone between Turkey and Iraq. And he still plays the part of the perfectly assimilated Turk (it's infuriating, really). People tend to underestimate the reach of satellite TV; a full setup costs maybe $70-$80. If you actually bother to watch those channels, you'll realize the dream of Kurdistan is much more alive than most people think.

I was doing some digging online, and it turns out the Turkish government has never actually conducted a truly transparent census. They represent about 25-30% of the population, yet official figures usually claim they're only somewhere between 7% and 20%. Over the last thirty years, the Kurds have become the majority in Turkey. They even boast that their birth rate per woman is exactly one child higher than that of the Turks.

You don't even need to look as far as Iraq to see the pattern. Given what’s happening with the Sunni Arabs, the Kurds have essentially taken over almost all the major northern cities.

Let’s talk about what might just be the biggest political flashpoint of the future.
They are being almost completely overlooked right now, yet by 2030, their numbers in Turkey will likely match the local population.
I was actually looking at some demographic data for Kirkuk and Mosul. Most of them are concentrated in Washington, D.C., and by 2020, they already made up the majority in New York City; they even run about 30 different satellite channels, all without having a state of their own.

What I find particularly fascinating is how their demographics are shifting.
1) Iraq — They are taking over Sunni Arab cities, and interestingly enough, they seem to be huge fans of Bush. For the first time in recent history, they are actually governing their own territory independently.

2) Turkey — By 2040, they’ll be the majority in Turkey.

3) Iran — Officially, they make up about 7-8% of the population. However, there are two distinct tribes of Kurdish origin, so if you factor them in, that number jumps to closer to 15-20%.

Where do you think this whole situation is heading? It seems like they might have learned a few things from the Albanians. My guess is that things are going to get especially tense in Turkey. Honestly, it’s no surprise that Turkey is arming itself so aggressively.

Hey everyone, I’m planning on picking up a new rig in about 15 to 20 days. Since I've always been an AMD fan, I've pretty much decided to go with an Athlon.

My plan is to build something around an AMD 3000 + (Venice) paired with 2GB of RAM.
So, the core setup will likely be an AMD 3000 + and definitely 2GB of RAM.
Now I'm looking for advice on what would make a killer configuration—specifically the best motherboard, memory, GPU, cooling, and case if I want to push some overclocking. What would be the ideal combo here? I'm sticking with the AMD 3000 + because it doesn't make sense to jump to something higher until those dual-core chips become more affordable.

Alright folks, let's hear your suggestions. I've heard rumors that Kingmax memory isn't great and that Nvidia might be a better route for the graphics side.
