And honestly, does anyone actually know how much Mella costs? Please, if anyone has an idea, let me know—I don't want to make the trip if it's overpriced, like some people are suggesting... (though I guess "expensive" is pretty subjective 😁)... I just really need to know the price🙏

It feels overpriced to me, honestly... probably more than... $3333Around $13k, if I recall correctly. Honestly, his shots look exactly like what every other photographer in Savannah is putting out—nothing special at all. I guess he thinks having a fancy crane and slightly better gear justifies that price tag...
My comment about Zoom being "you get what you pay for" just means they're budget-friendly. We spent around $400 total for the album, DVD, and prints for thank-you cards, so they're pretty middle-of-the-road. They do a decent enough job, and honestly, I wasn't expecting anything more after seeing their portfolio... all their wedding shots look exactly the same regardless of the couple...
If you want top-tier photos, go with Andrew Car. He works privately so he's a bit tough to track down, but if you can actually get a hold of him, you won't regret it...

Just to follow up on that... Zoom worked just fine for me, and honestly, I figured if you want more, you pay more. That’s how it goes...

Does anyone know who rents out bubble machines? Is there anything available in Vegas and what's the going rate...

Alexander Gonzalez56 said:I’ve been scrolling through the posts here lately, and it seems like most people have much smaller guest lists than mine. I'm looking at about 500 people... so now I’m stuck wondering how big these cakes need to be or even how many desserts I should order per table. To make things more complicated, there are these new certification requirements for baked goods recently. The fines are pretty intense—honestly, they feel a bit excessive—but I guess that's just how the government keeps things running. Anyway, does anyone near the Chicago area know a baker who makes great sweets without breaking the bank? Ideally, I want them to be delicious; I can manage the cost, but there's no way I'm serving subpar treats to my guests. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them.🙂

You should check out Kat Lear from that small town in the Midwest; she does my baking, and her stuff shows up at pretty much every wedding I've attended. She'll help you figure out the quantities, too. You can either bring your own supplies or use hers—though using hers is better since she always asks for more than you think you'll need. Don't sweat the size of the main cake, because with a buffet spread like they have at Mimi, you'll probably end up with at least 8 or 9 other cakes on the table anyway. There's someone else in a small rural town, and Ten and Bo both make great sweets. Kat Lear will run you about $1800 (for 400 people), which gets you roughly 20 boxes of 100 pieces plus the cakes... and trust me, you aren't alone, I'm dealing with 500 people too...

I was at some weddings where they worked, and honestly, their gear is top-tier. There were five or six of them, and they had everything—the crane, the light show, fog machines, even the bubble machine. They also make those custom photos for the thank-you cards in the hall, and my favorite part was how they snap shots of guests around the room and print them out on the spot to hand out...

There's a salon right at the edge of Indianapolis in Laramie, I can't remember the name, but it's $40. I know some girls who have used them, one even went there for her wedding and it turned out fine. That's pretty much the standard price you'll see everywhere else...

They put a schedule up a few days ago. Just Google "wedding expo in Chicago 2008" and it should pop right up. Anyway, it's open today from 12 to 7, then tomorrow and Sunday from 10 to 7...

Mark Miller13 said:Can someone please explain to me—like I’m five years old here—how I actually get to the wedding expo at Pampas this weekend? So, I get off the train and then... 😁
thanks so much!

Do you even know the hours or the schedule for the expo? There's nothing listed online except last year's info. Honestly, it would be better if someone from Indianapolis handled these directions so nobody messes it up...

Mark Ramirez6 said:Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi. My wedding is officially set for September.
I’d highly recommend checking out Stella Florals in Jacksonville. Their invitations and thank-you cards were top-notch. The pricing was fair, and I got the full VIP treatment—flowers, boutonnieres, the decorated car, and even the venue... plus the cathedral, which you won't find in Indianapolis. The cathedral is over in Jacksonville; that little church on the downtown square in Indy is just a 😛
.

I can't remember if it was an ad or what, but I was actually looking into hiring Stella. I saw her work at a few weddings recently and honestly, everything looked great... but in the end, my fiancé and I decided to go with Palm. Still, major props to Stella though...

Dennis Ramos said:If I recall correctly, you might find what you're looking for at that little boutique tucked away behind the Super store—you know, the one that seems to stock absolutely everything required for a wedding.👍

Thanks for the heads-up. Maybe I'll find something useful at the wedding expo, we'll see...

Robin Myers said:Where can I find decent, budget-friendly invitations and thank-you cards? I’m really just looking for simple cardstock for the thank-yous. Where does one even begin looking for this stuff? I'm based in Columbus...

Maybe check out some shops in Dakota, specifically FedEx, they’re pretty affordable and the quality is fine. Everyone planning a wedding around here uses them. I have their number if you want it...
