I was scrolling through some beauty influencers' posts today, and honestly, it kind of spooked me. Every time a big music festival season rolls around, there's this massive push to go as bright and "extra" as possible. It’s all about those hyper-pigmented, glowing looks that practically pop off the screen.
But then I started looking into what actually goes into some of these specialty pigments. It’s a bit of a minefield. It feels like you're stuck between wanting to look amazing for a weekend of fun and the nagging worry that you're basically painting your face with industrial-grade chemicals. I've had bad reactions to cheap glitter before, and it's not worth the breakout or the irritation.
Has anyone found a way to get that high-impact, vibrant look without feeling like you're experimenting on your own skin? Do you vet your products, or do you just roll the dice?
Kunjevac isn't closed off, per se... It’s just that they aren't really considered the go-to option around here anymore, so maybe it’s better to look elsewhere. Laura has been completely renovated lately, and honestly, the hall looks absolutely stunning now. Plus, the current management team is quite decent, which would be ideal for you—especially if your sweetheart happens to be from Ivanov...
As for those custom license plates for the car, I picked some up at a shop in Vinkovci near the train station for about twenty bucks or so. I think there's also a place in Đakovo called Stella, or something similar, that handles custom plates. Alternatively, you could try heading over to Zebra Printing; they used to offer something similar. If you want custom invitations, it's worth checking them out too. You just tell them the paper dimensions you need, they'll cut everything to size, and you can just pay and take them home right then and there. The ladies working there are lovely...

Could someone maybe list the pros and cons for these specific venues (listed below)? I'm curious about things like food quality, anything missing from the service, extra fees for AC or heating, broken promises, or whatever else comes up...
I've attended quite a few weddings because my family is huge, 🙂 so I've had the chance to check out plenty of different venues...
Lucy is fine... nothing particularly special, just decent. Johnson Estates is excellent... they have everything running smoothly, and the owners are truly top-tier—easily a five-star experience. Laura is also very high quality. Admiral is the most expensive option, but it offers an exclusivity that makes it completely flawless in my eyes 🙂. Barun Trenk wasn't a highlight for me... the servers were mediocre, and you find yourself waiting forever just to be served. Renic is also quite reliable and fair; they are well-established and everything went perfectly... it really just comes down to which location you prefer, whether it's near Ivankovo or Anderson 😉 GOOD LUCK!
You can find those bottles over in St. Louis at FIS. If I recall correctly, they were priced at about a dollar per unit, which puts them well under $1.25 a buck apiece...

Is there actually anyone planning a wedding in April, May, or June, or is everyone just obsessed with summer and fall? Now I'm wondering—any drink recommendations? Where can we find the best deals? We're looking around the Cleveland and Osijek-Baranja County area. Our venue manager has a contract with Amadeus and offered us their services, but we've heard there are way cheaper options out there for booze. Does anyone know a good plug??
Miškulin near the bypass used to be a bit more budget-friendly than Amadeus... As for Admiral, everything there is truly excellent. It really follows the logic that you get exactly what you pay for when it comes to the music. Plus, they have lodging available on-site, which is a nice touch.🙂

By the way, if you're near the high-rises, there's that cosmetic place—I think Zrinka runs it—that is truly excellent...

Does anyone know if there are any decent sales going on for wedding suits over in Cleveland right now? A buddy was telling me it might be smart to snag a deal at Galileo, but I have no clue if those promos are still live—plus, Cleveland isn't exactly a quick drive for us since we're coming from Brod.
Second thing on my mind: tiaras. Where can I find the cheapest ones, specifically that wider style?
Thirdly: decorating the cars for the guests. We aren't really feeling those tacky, oversized shiny bows, so I'm looking for some better alternatives. Has anyone here actually DIY'd their own unique bows or decorations? If so, where's the best place to grab supplies without getting totally ripped off?
I actually made my own tulle and car bows... and everyone loved them. Also, those little paper or cellophane spheres are quite charming too. What color are you thinking of using? You might even find some tulle in Canada.
Jua sax is truly exceptional... 🙂 I’ve actually seen them perform at three different weddings over the past year, and they handled every single one flawlessly. It’s such a great dynamic because everyone in the group sings. As for their rates, I don't have an exact figure for you, but it might be worth reaching out directly. They have both a Facebook page and their own dedicated website where you can find more info. From what I’ve observed, anyone who has hired them has been completely satisfied. So, if you're looking, definitely give them a shout...

To be honest, those meats at the Hilton were always priced quite a bit higher than what you'd find elsewhere; back in the day, the owner had a bit of a prickly personality, though I'm not entirely sure if that's still the case... I went ahead and put together a list of local delis in the area that might be a better fit for her tastes...
rustyjackal26 said:Hey Joe Biden...😉 I did a little digging into the venues. Apparently, Tena's place is fantastic; everyone raves about it, and the pricing seems to be right in line with Jane's venue... We're looking at roughly 200-250 guests... I should probably check out the Hilton near Indianapolis as well... A few months back, my dear, we were at a wedding in a small town, USA, at the Smith venue... man... it was incredible. 😍 The hall itself is beautiful and has this simple, clean aesthetic, but the service? Honestly, it was the best I've ever experienced. The staff—the guys and girls—were relentless in the best way possible. They were moving through the room all night, swapping out pizza, checking in to see if anyone needed anything, constantly refilling plates with meat, sides, and salads. They were cutting the cake and going table to table to offer it. Even the coffee was top-tier, served with those little cream containers. Total perfection...👍 Unfortunately, it's a bit further away than we'd prefer, so it's likely off the table for us. 😢 They had this jazz band that played incredibly well, but I haven't caught their name yet... I'll let you know when I find out. 😁
Listen, Teddy’s place isn't bad at all... and neither is Natalie’s spot in Greensboro... I wouldn't recommend the Hilton, though. I grew up in that area, so I know the layout well. TGI Fridays is a great choice, too. In fact, I was at a wedding there on August 4th and the service was absolutely phenomenal!!!!!
Nancy, what happened to the rest of the catering options in the area? How large is the wedding guest list? As for the musicians, my friends, I can't recommend them enough—specifically the group from the Bosut area, the Kristals, or that local folk band; even the Midwest ensemble is legendary... though I suppose the guests' energy will vary depending on who shows up.
There’s plenty available at the local print shops... It might be worth doing a quick sweep of the area. If you can't find what you need in Indianapolis, I know several spots in the surrounding suburbs that carry it. I might be able to lend a hand if you reach out via DM... 😉)

It’s a bit like when someone calls me up and just says, "My computer won't work," without any further detail—I can't exactly read minds, Milan!!!
It says something like: "File does not exist or is unreadable IMG_...." I think I understand what's happening, but I honestly have no idea why this keeps occurring. 🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷
It’s a bit of a mystery because there aren't any error messages popping up; the system simply refuses to display any of the images along the sidebar... it's as if they aren't being read at all. The filenames show up perfectly fine, but the actual visuals just won't render, which leaves me completely unable to work on them.
I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place to ask, but I find myself in a bit of a bind. I’ve been running Windows 7, and just like I did on my previous computers, I went ahead and installed PhotoScape. However, for some reason, the program won't open a single one of my photos. Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this issue? Thanks so much!
