Think of it like those decorative garden canopies you see at fancy outdoor weddings—not quite a flat tent, more like a circular gazebo setup. The catch? It’s way less stable. If a sudden storm rolls through, the whole thing is basically toast. Plus, it's a hell of a lot smaller than a standard shelter.
Well, I'm back... I really hope Sarah Taylor4 gave you his number so you can just reach out and get it sorted. Honestly, my memory is shot—I can't even remember what kind of budget we were looking at anymore. Regarding the tent, it’s white and comes in various sizes, but let's be real: a tent is just a tent. That said, we paired the tent with one of those pavilions, and if you aren't expecting a massive crowd, I cannot recommend that enough. It's absolutely gorgeous.
Henry Thompson5 said:Can someone please point me toward a hairstylist in St. Louis who actually knows what they're doing for wedding updos? There are plenty of options out there, but let's be honest—half of them are a gamble I'm not willing to take.
Martin Crnković and Dejan are your guys. They're solid.
Henry Thompson5 I picked up my Revere there, same place I grabbed my wedding dress. You’re looking at $80 minimum, and honestly, that’s just the starting point depending on what combo you're after. In my experience, you aren't going to find a better deal anywhere else.

It used to be so simple—we just had the one original version, you know? No fancy layers, no nothing, just a massive rectangular sheet cake, and that was that...
Haha, looks like we share the exact same taste when it comes to cake.👍 Actually, we have the same attitude toward it, too—I really can't be bothered to stress over it either.🤣 But hey, if you happen to track down a decent photo, please post it. I could really use some inspiration...
Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up those little car flowers without getting totally ripped off? I spotted some in Miami, but they were $1.75, which is just insane to pay for such nonsense. I heard there's a free house over in Indianapolis—has anyone actually been there?
We ended up booking the Matićević venue; we’ve got about 250 to 300 people coming, so we needed the extra breathing room. Regarding Bravo Band—I know they don't usually play house shows, but if I recall correctly, they bring their own backing band—those guys who play the traditional instruments—for private gigs. You should double-check the contract, but it says they’re booked from 1:00 PM straight through until 4:00 AM, so that’s that. As for the time, haha, I haven't a clue. Just check your DMs once you log in; you'll see the edit options on the left sidebar. Go ahead and poke around in there.
I don't know much about the band, though I think our guys just have some dude who plays along at home. Can anyone tell me which band you actually booked and what venue you used?
Don't even mention it! It’s great to see some people from the Midwest around here, and don't even get me started on all those folks from shipyards back home.😍 I'll shoot you a DM later; I need to check with my mom, 😂, because I honestly can't remember what we ended up paying. Once I touch base with her, I'll let you know. Anyway, I'll tell you this: I used to absolutely loathe those cheap pop-up tents, but honestly, you have to set them up just to deal with the weather. You never know when a storm is going to roll in out of nowhere. But looking at this setup? I was actually pleasantly surprised. It's actually going to make the backyard look way better, especially with that pavilion 😍 blah, blah, blah 😂 Anyway, I'll hit you up in your inbox later...
Henry Thompson5 said:Since we’re touching on the Midwest—which doesn't pop up here all that often—I was wondering: where can I actually rent a wedding tent? Just for the backyard portion of things... you know, in case the weather decides to turn?
We ended up renting from some local vendor over near the high school—I think it was on one of those streets near the vocational center. We grabbed one big tent, a pavilion, and all the tables and benches. They’re great, honestly. Really nice quality. The best part is you don't have to seal them off completely; you can adjust the sides however you want depending on the breeze. As for invitations, I haven't even started looking yet. Since we're planning this out of town, I haven't checked the local shops here. We were actually thinking about checking out a specialized print shop over in Chicago. The prices seemed fair, and they look sharp. Just Google that print shop and you'll see what I mean...
rustyviper17 said:Hey there... I wanted to pick your brains for a second...😁 Has anyone here actually gone wedding dress shopping in a city like Miami or maybe San Diego? I'm trying to figure out if I need to schedule appointments in advance or if I can just show up whenever I feel like it... 😁 Since I don't get down that way very often, my original plan was to just make a whirlwind trip—hit every boutique in one go, see everything, and then put a deposit down on my favorite find at the end of the day. 😛 But now I'm hearing whispers about all this mandatory appointment stuff... does anyone actually know how it works? 😉
I bought mine down there and definitely had an appointment. Honestly, your best bet is to call ahead and set a time. Tell them roughly what kind of style you're looking for so they can actually have things ready for you to try on. You can handle the whole scheduling thing over the phone; you don't necessarily have to go in person just to make the booking.
rustyviper17 said:...The wedding guests will be gathered at a hall in a small town about 25 miles outside of the city, so I’ll definitely be in the loop regardless...🙂
The band goes by "Svirci." Honestly? They were absolute legends at those Midwest weddings I went to back in the day. They really know how to set a mood. But hey, don't just take my word for it—go ask around and see what everyone else thinks. I honestly have no clue when you’re actually pulling the trigger on the wedding, but trust me on this one—you need to get those reservations locked in way sooner rather than later. Look, just give it some serious thought. If you decide you actually want to go through with this, I'll see what I can do about tracking down that number for you. No pressure, just think it over.😉
I don't know about you all, but I’ve been staring at my screen for twenty minutes trying to find the right words for this mess. It’s like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the manual—except the instructions are written in riddles and half the screws are missing. Honestly, looking at the way things are heading lately, I’m just exhausted. It feels like we’re constantly sprinting on a treadmill that someone keeps speeding up, yet we aren't actually moving an inch closer to where we need to be. It’s the same old song, different verse. We see these grand promises made by people in suits, and then we're left holding the bag when reality inevitably hits the fan. It’s predictable, really. If life were a movie, we’d be stuck in that tedious second act where everything goes wrong and the hero realizes they were chasing a mirage the whole time. Anyway, I'm rambling. Just one of those days where the cynicism is winning the fight. kaže: From what I’ve gathered from all these conversations, people are asking for anywhere between $1,000 and $2,000. We’re sitting right around that same ballpark ourselves. Honestly? I’d much rather they were cheaper. But look, if I’m going to shell out that kind of cash, I at least want them to be worth every single penny.😉
Now I’ve got no clue which city those in-laws are actually planning to descend upon. If you happen to be hanging around the Seattle area, I can point you toward one specific group that’s actually worth your time... I was at this wedding last year where a girl from the Midwest married a guy from Florida—it was basically a massive clash of two totally different worlds. Honestly, they pulled off an incredible party for everyone involved. I’m talking about a serious energy boost; I think most people were still going strong and dancing until the sun came up. If you’re interested, just let me know.
Paul Taylor4 said:Can anyone point me toward a decent bridal boutique that isn't in St. Louis? I’m looking to branch out since the prices around here are absolutely insane—I honestly have no clue what the standard rate even is anymore. I actually really dig Isabelle over on Republic Avenue; they carry that Sposin collection, so if anyone knows of somewhere else with a similar vibe, please let me know!
If you head over to Kansas City and check out Lisa’s boutique, you can find dresses ranging from $567 up to $4,500. Honestly, I haven't a clue what those $1,700 ones look like, but once you hit the $3,000 mark and up, you can find some seriously stunning pieces. They carry Maggie Sottero, and I think they're getting a new collection in about five months. Nikolina’s has pretty much the same price range, though they mostly stock ballgown styles with heavy crinoline. But hey, since you specifically mentioned wanting that SPOSIN vibe, the selection at Lisa's might actually suit your taste better.
Sandra Morgan7 said:Ugh, guys, my wedding is approaching at lightning speed... it's happening in about a month, 😲 and I’m still stuck in this total limbo regarding my hair. I need some kind of headpiece or accessory, but honestly? I have zero clue where to even start looking or how to navigate this whole thing. Does anyone actually know anything about this?
I was thinking maybe I could swing by some bridal boutiques to ask, but I'm not sure if they even carry those kinds of things, or if I can even rent or buy something there if I don't end up getting the actual dress from them.
Help a girl out! 😵😵
I'm pretty sure you can't just walk into a bridal boutique and pick up hair accessories unless you're buying their specific gown. Honestly, just check out Claire's or some other jewelry shop instead.
