dustysurfer5, huge congratulations to you!!!! 😁 It was seriously so sweet of you to reach out and check in even after the wedding madness settled down! I am just so incredibly happy to hear that everything went off without a hitch 🙂 Now you can finally kick back and just soak up that whole newlywed life 🙂 😁 😉
Hey girls, I need some serious help! 😁 Does anyone know a killer lash technician in Indianapolis who can do a really clean, beautiful job with extensions? I’m looking for someone who actually knows what they’re doing and won't mess up my face. A solid recommendation would be amazing right about now. 🙂 Thanks so much in advance! 😉
Joe, look, it’s just one of those traditions, you know? I’m planning on wearing my jewelry because my mother-in-law actually gave me some cash for it, so I went ahead and picked out a necklace, some earrings, and a bracelet all by myself a little while before the wedding. I’m going to rock them on the big day, but honestly, it's mostly because I am absolutely obsessed with how they look. If it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't even bother.
Jesse Morgan73 said:I think I’m dealing with a slightly different kind of headache here. We’re planning our wedding for next July, but since we live outside the States, we’ve decided to host it back home in St. Louis. I’ll be heading back to the US at the start of this summer, and my goal is to get the venue booked then. We’ll have a band and a photographer lined up, and since my sister is handling all the floral arrangements, I don't have to worry too much about that side of things—I just need to coordinate with her. The plan is to stay in the US for a few weeks this summer and hopefully hammer out most of the big details. But the catch is, once I leave again, the next time I’ll actually be on the ground will be only two months before the wedding date. Honestly, I’m starting to panic a little about how I'm going to manage everything from a distance. I know my parents will step in to help as much as they can, but still... So, my question is: should I be looking to reserve anything else while I'm there this summer? And do you think two months is enough lead time to handle the remaining logistics? I'm really hoping this forum can give me some clarity on this.🙂😁
I honestly think you should get ahead of the curve and lock down that venue and the band right now, because wedding season is absolutely kicking into high gear and everyone is scrambling to book their dates.🙂
I actually know this one acquaintance who decided to rent her wedding dress from a shop in Nikoline. By the end of the night, she had completely shredded the hem—it was this delicate lace thing—and the whole gown was absolutely caked in mud. But you know what? She just paid the rental fee like everything was totally fine and walked away. 😁 No extra charges, nothing.
Honestly, why even worry about it? I’m not listing my parents either, since neither my mom nor my dad are showing up to the wedding anyway. And even if they were, I still wouldn't bother putting their names down. They had their own big days back in the day, so they could have listed whoever they wanted then. This is your moment, period. Besides, I am absolutely spiraling right now... part of me just wants to pull the plug on everything and cancel it all. As we get closer—we’ve only got 37 days left, oh my godddddd—I just get this overwhelming feeling that nothing is going to go right, like everything is just going to fall apart... ugh, I feel physically sick just thinking about it... 😢 😢 😢
We actually ended up picking up some rings from Zales too, and honestly, the prices were such a steal that we couldn't be happier with the whole deal 😁
Joshua Brown2 said:From all the weddings I've been to, including my own, the groom usually drives the decorated car to go grab the bride and head to the church. The bride almost always takes a different car, usually riding with her parents.
Around here, though, we like to go all out and decorate both cars. It's more of a whole procession; the bride heads to the church with her bridesmaids, and the groom makes his way from his place to hers, also accompanied by his groomsmen. Then, once the ceremony is wrapped up, the newlyweds finally ride together. 😁
So, here's the deal... I'm still out here hunting for the perfect makeup artist... I really want to try someone else out... Does anyone have a number for a solid pro? Or maybe even some recommendations for someone working over at Sephora? Thanks! 😁
So, I heard there’s this one salon over in the Brooklyn area, $1.00 give me a sec, my cousin was telling me it’s actually pretty decent. I honestly can't remember the exact name or where it's tucked away right now, though. 😢 Personally, whenever I'm heading out to a small town in Kansas to hit up the H&M, I swear that's my absolute go-to.
mistywalker5 said:Hey girl, listen—my in-laws' wedding isn't until August 5th, and I haven't even started sending out invitations yet... we're planning to get moving on them in about two weeks, so we're just taking it slow. Honestly, you'll get everything done in time. It feels a little silly to share everything too early anyway, and there’s really no point—people will either tell you right away if they can make it or let you know within a week or two, you know what I mean? On my invites, I have the RSVP date set for April 15th—which is three weeks before the big day—just because we need to give the final headcount to the Hilton and handle all the other logistics... and honestly, I've never actually received an invitation more than a month and a half in advance myself. Don't stress, you aren't running behind at all...😉
We also set our RSVP deadline for April 23rd, which is that same three-week window. But man, I don't know... it feels like everyone around me thinks they're such an expert, so it gets to that point where even the stuff I actually like starts to feel annoying because everyone has some unsolicited opinion or comment. Thank God the wedding party is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, 🙏 🙏

We visited his relatives on Saturday and mine on Sunday. I spent one day seeing my friends and another day visiting family friends. He finished up the rest of his list this past weekend since that was his only free time. For anyone living far away or just scattered across the US, we'll be sending those invitations by mail. Don't panic. In my opinion, you can get it all done in a week or two, depending on your guest count and how much free time you actually have. If you spend about 10-15 minutes per person, you'll make it. 🙂 Seriously, there's no reason to stress. 😉
Thanks, rowdypanther16... you've definitely eased my mind. It feels like everyone around me is just constantly feeding into this whole "panic mode" thing lately... ugh... ☕
Sandra Hernandez9 said:When exactly is your rehearsal dinner? I have no idea what the standard timeline is—or how everyone else handles it—but my personal plan is to have everything sent out about two to three months before the big day.🤷
My wedding is set for May 15th, and I’m thinking about starting to split everything up in just about two weeks... hopefully, I'm not cutting it too close there. 🤷
I’ve been wondering, how far in advance do you guys usually start sending out wedding invitations? Honestly, I’m starting to get a little bit of anxiety thinking I might run out of time to get them all in the mail...
Jesse Morgan73 said:Hey everyone, I figured it was finally time for me to jump in here and join the conversation. My fiancé and I are planning to tie the knot next July—maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but I just really want everything to be perfect. One major logistical headache is that my boyfriend is from Seattle, so I need to find a way to house all his guests. We’ve been looking at the banquet hall at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Seattle; it seems like our best bet because the venue is stunning and having the hotel right there makes it so much easier to tuck everyone away. I was wondering if anyone knows what the typical per-person rate is at the Hyatt, and specifically what’s included in that price? Or better yet, if anyone has experience booking large room blocks, do they actually offer any kind of discount or special rate? We’re looking at a guest list of about 250 to 300 people, so I guess I should also ask if the ballroom is spacious enough to handle a crowd that size without feeling cramped... hm. Anyway, that’s all for now. I’m really just at the very beginning of this whole process, and I’ll probably end up having a million more questions, but I suppose I should take things one step at a time.
I’m actually having my wedding at the Hilton. You can fit about 330 people in there easily. As for the cost, at least for us (our big day is coming up this May), it was $30 per person. That covers the first course and an open bar, plus the second course $5.00 per person if you decide to bring your own catering for things like roasted lamb or pork, but if you go with their signature stew, it's $10 per person. Then there's the brunch the next day which is $17 per person. I’m not totally sure about the room rates, though.
Bradley Wright said:Where did you pick up those stickers? I’d love to grab some for myself too! 😍
Well, my aunt actually brought them over for me from the States. She lived out there for a while, so she used to pick up all sorts of stuff for weddings back home. I just managed to snag the leftovers 😁 It’s been a minute since I’ve popped up on the forum... life just kind of got in the way and kept me busy. Honestly, if I don't have a heart attack before the wedding gets here, it'll be a miracle! 🙏
Bradley Wright;25328317 said:rowdypanther16 what kind of adhesive stickers are we talking about? because honestly, that sounds like such a killer idea. I’m going to need a massive stash of those little bottles since I’m hosting about 500 guests spread across 60 tables in the ballroom, so I want one at every single station. Plus, I definitely want some extra on hand just in case we need to swap anything out—and obviously, my fiancé will probably want some for his side too. So yeah, it’s definitely better to overdo it than to run short.
See, my aunt hosted her wedding last year and she gave me these stickers to use, and man, they are just awesome. They’re for the bride and groom, and they look so sharp. It saves me from having to mess around with drawing stuff by hand, and they just have this cool, unique vibe that stands out from the usual wedding decor.👍
